“Charlie Wilson’s War” – a battle against boredom
”Charlie Wilson’s War”… a disappointment considering the cast… and the writer behind the movie. I really thought I would like this movie… but it fell short… the only redeeming value was the performance of Philip Seymour Hoffman… its no surprise he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role… his one-liners and quips to both Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts stole the show… but didn’t do enough to lift this medicore period piece out of the 80’s. Hanks was okay, but Roberts was awful playing a woman many years older… I couldn’t buy into her character.
