Top Fry in Town

This could be one of the more controversial posts I’ve written. As a reporter, I try to stay objective. But there’s one thing I need to share with others… I honestly think I’ve found the best french fries in town!
I should have known what I was getting into just by the name. The restaurant where these fries are served even calls them “crack fries” on the menu. Translation: these fries are so good, they’re as addictive as crack. These fries are the crunchiest ones you’ll ever eat. And they have just the right touch of spice. You can check them out at “Hopcat” at 25 Ionia Avenue in downtown Grand Rapids.
I like to pair my crack fries with the turkey bruschetta burger. A weak attempt to balance all that french fry grease with something a little healthier. Ha!
Should we even delve into the subject of onion rings? I don’t have a lot of recommendations to offer there, but I can say the best I’ve had are at Russ’. My family used to always eat there when I was a kid.

I will have to check out the fries at Hopcat. I agree that Russ’ has the best onion rings ever. I just had them a few days ago for lunch. Now, lets review the best donuts in town. hehehehe
This pregnant girl will have to go and try those crack fries! I’m sure my husband will just love having to take me down there when ever I’m craving them!
My favorite onion rings were the one’s that Fables used to serve. I had the honor of working with one of the former owners. I tried to sweet talk the recipe out of him but I wasn’t able to do it. LOL! I’ll have to go check out Russ’ now.
