Governor Granholm Hedges
It’s always fun to play the what-if game when it comes to political career moves.
As Michigan Dems look for a big win from Barack Obama tonight, I asked the Governor if she would rule out serving in an Obama Administration. Even before I could get the question out, Granholm was waving me off, but not ruling anything out.
Choosing her words carefully, the Governor said she was looking forward to working with a Democratic president focusing on Michigan’s problems. How closely?
Some have speculated Granholm would jump at a chance to go to Washington, now term limited with 2 years left in office. It would allow the state Dems to position Lt Gov John Cherry to run for the top job, and Granholm would enter a new chapter in her political career. Remember, even though she supported Hillary, the Governor did play a role in the Obama campaign, even coaching Joe Biden before his debate with Sarah Palin. The Governor was even said to be on the short list to be nominated to the US Supreme Court!!
Call it speculation in the midst of anticipation here in the Motor City.
Makes sense to me. Take an inept egomaniac with no real regard for the people of the state of Michigan and put her in a position where she is to interpret the Constitution. Hey, from one Dem to another.
the comment above was right on.
the state’s in a mess, and they celebrate? sounds like
what libs would do alright.
a failure here in this debacle, and she’s going to DC?
quit hyping her up, ok?
Good – at least she’ll leave Michigan! In 8 years she’s done nothing…Washington will love her.
Her and Nobama will make a great pair .
WILX-10 in Lansing just reported that our Jenny is going to be part of Obama’s “economic transition team”. I guess her qualifications are the fantastic job she’s done with Michigan’s economy. Heavens what a joke.
