Gas Prices

From Patrick: “I’m expecting that the current gasoline prices in the area (some as low as $1.95) will perhaps be the lowest we see this winter (HOWEVER, this all is based on our economy making a “quick” recovery). I would definitely take the chance to fill up all your gas cans, vehicles, etc. as soon as possible as prices should begin their journey northward for Spring.
If nothing changes in wholesale prices today, I expect to see $2.19-$2.29 here eventually. Wholesale markets were up a healthy amount overnight and have kept that going this morning.”
gas is $1.98 here in Jenison at the Speedway on Baldwin right down the road from me
I just paid $1.94 in downtown Zeeland.
I wish I had a couple tanks at my house so I could stock up before prices skyrocket again……Sure glad I bought my Honda though. Can’t complain with 38 mpg!
$1.93 at three different stations in Spring Lake. Filled up for $22.50 at lunchtime. How nice is this for a change!
Gas is still at 2.06 here in Muskegon, the gougers own this town. Sigh!
After seeing prices hover around $4.00, I would still be very ‘happy’ with gas prices around $2.30. I filled up this afternoon at $1.98/gallon, and I was very happy to see that I could fill up for nearly half of what it cost a few months ago!
I was in Columbus,OH over the weekend and saw prices as low as $1.79. Sure would be nice to have that around here, but compared to well above $4.00, the $2.09 I’ve seen at most stations isn’t so bad. I just hope we don’t skyrocket too much!
Granholm wants to raise the gas tax to generate revenue to fix the roads.
How about requiring the trucking industry to pay their fair share?
Its nice to see gas fall in price. Talk about price gouging, the propane retailers are the kings. Wholesale propane cost has fallen to just over $1.00 a gallon. Just had an auto delivery, charged $2.64 a gallon.
Hey guys $1.89 a gallon in Paw Paw!! Yukon Denali Xl and only $48 to fill!!
Praise God
It’s a welcome thing having to pay less at the pump. $2.07 here in Grayling. I am not to thrilled at the idea of gas tax increases that has been talked about recently. And if the truckers have to pay more, then we pay more at the grocery store.
Filled up last night (Monday) in Plainwell– gas was $1.89 (less the 5 cent discount at Meijer, so I paid $1.84 per gallon). What a welcome relief this has been for our family the past few weeks as the gasoline prices have come way down! I will enjoy it for as long as possible and keep praying the prices don’t go as high as they were this summer. We have still tried to drive conservatively in spite of the lower prices and continue to work on carpooling or combining errands wherever possible. Every little bit helps. I think that a good result from the higher prices at the pump made our family more aware of our driving habits, and also wastefulness. Hopefully we are better stewards with our resources now.
You say that the truck companies need to pay their fair share? Do you realize that Diesel should be the cheapest type of fuel there is! Plus, not only are they paying more per gallon, they get less per mile and then on top of it they have to pay more then just the taxes that states put on fuel, they have to pay a quarterly tax on the miles and the gallons they purchase in each state. Don’t talk to me about how trucks need to pay their fair share…they already do, believe me!!!!
The biggest thing our state can do to help the roads is to stop using salt every time we see flakes. The CONSTANT melting/freezing destroys roads several times faster than they should. It costs a ton of money to buy all that salt too. The only roads that need salting are the highways, the rest should simply be plowed, just like in Anchorage.
Obama is elected and gas prices go down.Just one of many things he will accomplish as president elect.
Prices Here $1.92 Today
I think larger trucks should have to pay more for gas. That includes you mr Denali Gas hog.
NO kc, global Finances are crashing, When B.O. takes over it won’t mean much if gas is $2.00 when nobody can afford to buy a new car. Look at the states that are in terrible shape and look at what color those states are (blue), now we can all enjoy the failures he will bring to this country.
Mark, your negativity is bringing me down. Have faith brother, we will turn this thing around..
KC?? I am sorry if I offended you in any way. I have paid $100+ all year to fill up my tank. When I purchased my “Hog” as you call it, 4 years ago gas was under $2.00 a gallon and with a family of 6 we needed a big vehicle. Unless you think we could have the kids ride in the trunk of my Prius??
Be careful of your tone my friend, you send a bad message around this blog!
Just got back from Plainwell and gas was $1.85 at the Admiral stations. Meijer had jumped their prices up to $2.09 for regular!
I got gas in Richland today and it was $1.87. It was $1.94 when I came into town at 8 am and down to the $1.87 by 11:30. It had jumped .10 a gallon on Gull Road and it was $2.09 tonight at Speedway at Gull Road/G Ave.
$1.99 here in Hartford. Down the road in Watervliet it is $1.92 and in Benton Harbor it is $1.89 along with Decatur.
Hubby said gas is up to $2.04 … I think this afternoon in Pwell.
Looks like Meijer had a small hike as expected and no one followed after a decline on the market today.
My thoughts are until we have a good understanding of how the General Motors (big 3) crisis works out and it’s possible implications to jobs, the cloudy economic picture will tend to suppress energy prices for sometime. It’s not just GM but also the huge amount of jobs that support them and the other US automakers and the communities, not to mention the global economic situation.
Prices are nice and low now, but they’re going to be going up again as we approach Summer 2009. Hopefully we don’t see rises like we did this year, but I would expect that we will and possibly then some!

why is diesel $3.19 a gallon????? this fuel is cheaper to make that gas….past pricing would mean about $1.65 to $1.75 per gallon…..is it the gas corporations??? or is the the government??????……the demand has dropped even more than gas yet there has only been a $1.00 drop not $2.00……
The cheapest gas I saw on my trip to paradise was in Kalkaska a small station there had it for $1.849…all the others in the town were $1.899……Diesel…Houghton Lake exit on US-27…$2.699 everywhere else 3.09 to 3.19
