20″ of snow for the U.P.?
A Lake-Effect Snow Warning is in effect for parts of the U.P. Heavy snow could pile up over a foot and a half deep near Munising over the next five days. Check out Marquette Radar, Munising Webcam, West Michigan Radar, Current Michigan Weather Observations. Grand Rapids NWS Forecast Discussion, Northern Indiana NWS Forecast Discussion, Northern Lower Michigan NWS Discussion. This is going to be a cold week, with daytime temperatures mostly in the 30s and at least light snow accumulations likely (about 5-10 degrees below normal). The most likely area for heavier snow is still in the SW corner of the state down into Indiana. I’ll update later today.
Good morning Bill,
Last outlook discussion I read, they’re talking possible advisories for the Lake Effect Snow Belts Monday. Could be interesting any way. Been gettings lots of sleet around here, and its starting to stick to the hard surfaces. Slipped a little earlier stepping out on the concrete front porch.

Light snow (flurries) here in Muskegon this morning.
The disgusting stuff is here again lol. There is snow on the ground. Just a dusting but it is coming down pretty good here.
No snow on the ground over this way….no deer in camp yet either.
LOWELL, MI — LIGHT SNOW WHITE GROUND WITH GREEN GRASS POKING THROUGH
Light snow falling, light amounts on cars, grass, ect roads just wet. temp is 33°
SlimJim
we have snow on the ground just a dusting
33* here too, with some very pretty light snow falling. Accumulating on the rooftops and trees, a dusting on the grass.
32.5* here, we just had a nice burst, that turned evrything white for the first time this fall…
light dusting on the ground, but coming down pretty good here in Kalamazoo right now….32 degrees right now….
Nothing on the ground in Spring Lake. The drive here from GR was not good-mainly due to very poor visibility. Not looking forward to the drive home at 11 tonight. My 5 yr old is happy though-LOL!
Dusting on the ground in holland. Snowing pretty heavy right now.
We had a nice coating on everything……now its all melting….too warm for it to sick around
Snow has stopped, sun breaking through. Temp up to 36* and everything has melted.
Models hinting at an East Coast storm for next weekend. If it happens, maybe it will drag some colder air down and keep the lake effect going. Not too excited about much lake effect here near Saugatuck. I am a couple miles in from the lake, temps are still in the mid-30’s and often with the early season lake effect events, the lake is too warm for us to get anything significant. Go inland a few more miles, and the lake influence is not as much, and perhaps more snow for those folks. Neither the NAM or GFS are giving much snow for anyone.
Got a text message from Hubby in Deer Camp – NW of Crystal Falls in UP @ 11:20 AM. 23 degrees, brisk NW wind and flurries = ) He says it’s crunchy, enough snow cover to give them better definition between trees and deer and they are loving every minute of it = ) They should be protected from the heavier lake effect snow – too far south & west it appears.
34.9 here now…snow’s have come & gone..
this is the place to be…

snow is coming down nicely here, wind-driven
Its 35° here with some of and on light snow, sun came out for a while and the snow on the ground, cars ect is now gone.
SlimJim
visibilities are low
My point forecast still shows me getting about 3-4″ of snow through tuesday in holland. Good news!

It’s still snowing lightly here, but the wind seems to have died down.
It’s been a busy weather ’season’ for me:
I completed my R.A.C.E.S. training and only need to talk to one of the sheriff’s department officers to get my badge:
