“Get a life”
I don’t blame Rich Rodriguez for firing a shot at some of the disgruntled Michigan fans that have been blasting him on message boards. The firerrod.com sight was up… almost from day one. So when he said the people writing some of the nasty things about him and his players should, “get a life”, I said, “Good for him.”
With that said, he better get his act together fast. When former players like Desmond Howard are saying you look more like Michigan Tech than Michigan, you’re in trouble. When you lose the trifecta (Notre Dame/Michigan State/Ohio State) as they are in danger of doing, you’re in trouble. Rodriguez needs a win over Ohio State in the worst way. Then he needs a top notch recruiting class and a public relations firm to help make Michigan fans forget his entrance and year one performance.
He’s been too good a coach in the past to suddenly become Michigan’s Matt Millen. But another season like this, on and off the field, and that’s how he’ll be remembered if Michigan power-brokers lose patience and push him out. In the meantime Michigan fans need to show a little patience. Give him a full year to recruit and a chance to get the speedy skill players his system requires.
One piece of advice for Coach Rod. Stay off the message boards, turn off your radio, and quit reading the papers.

New programs can take some time….too bad a lot of U.M. fans are into “winning and I want it right now” at any cost. Everybody wants to support and be apart of a winner…The problem that I have seen with the “Fans” …it is there only life…there behavior at games (not just football) is terrible…I’ve stopped going to their football games because of the inability to win without ridiculing the other teams, if they lose “bad calls” are to blame, and if that does not work…blame the coach……I also went to a few of their hockey games, I don’t anymore…parents of the opposing team we’re spit on and stuff thrown at them by the crowd of so called “Fans” (unprovoked) …….you can have it. I like when any of Michigan college teams win and slightly bummed if they don’t, yes bad calls/coaches can make a difference, but I don’t ridicule their opponents to make myself feel better. I think U.M. has a great coach, just not the talent required to run his style of game…remember the bail out of players when he started????…It’s a more exciting game when the crowd/viewers/fans/coaches don’t know the play before the ball is hiked.
