The next storm on Thursday/Friday will likely be a mixed precipitation event with the possibility of rain and a period of freezing rain (the morning GFS model is warmer than last night’s European model…I’ll wait for the morning run of the European to see if it’s warmer, or sticks to the cold idea. I know they say the roads are icy but are they really? Traffic is moving at a normal clip on the Beltline.
lol my mom call and said that she had to take my bro to school because it was like the Artic out side and he did not want to wait for the bus..lol of im off to school safe driving ppl and dont get blowen away i still wanna see ur coments on here
I am driving my kids to school as well. I am such a worry wart and I always think worse case scenario. I am worried about tree limbs and power lines being blown down. Not to mention the hypothermia they could get just standing there waiting for the bus.
anyone know what the roads are like in twin lake area? particularly m120? i have to drive and i am wondering if i would be better off going back roads if holton road is icy.
Now THAT is a cold front!
About 6am, it started to really freeze up. I had to get out this morning. About 6:30 it started to really freeze up good. NO school here in Hastings. I am sure the road crew will be busy trying to stay on top of these roads this A.M.
Anyone know how the Beltline is going from GR to Rockford?
left house at 545 37degrees got back at 725 22 degrees!
wowee!!
According to my mom, 131 and I96 is fine but cascade road and east paris are slippery.
Sorry for the bad grammer lol.
Going to work. Wish me luck! I will let you all know how I did when I go on break!
Roads nasty up here-I feel better knowing my kids arent out riding on a school bus right now. I would have probably either kept them home or driven them myself had they had school today (Yup, I’m another worry wart mom! lol)
Thankfully I don’t have to head back out till about 1pm. At least there’s salt trucks out but I don’t think the salt will do much good now at 18*???
Please be safe out there everyone! And don’t forget the coat, hat, gloves, etc! It’s darn nippy out there!
Good luck Jennifer! Be safe!
Winter is back. Snowing and blowing here with 19°.
Anyone know when roads will be drivable? My 5 yr old woke up with a raging ear infection and needs to be seen but we need to get there safe!
Michelle, I’m SURE that roads are drivable now. Just take it slow and easy.
Wow, 19F, and lake effect snow is already covering the roots of the grass. If it weren’t so dog-gone windy! What a mean, raw day.
looks like a snow hurricane out there.
17F and the grass is holding its hands just above the top of the snow, looking like tundra. Is this nature’s way of refreshing the snowpack for the holidays?
