Jose Narezo not forgotten
Wednesday night, December 17th, Jose Narezo passed away after his battle with cancer. I remember how hopeful he was when he was in our studios this past September delivering his own message as part of the network special “Stand Up to Cancer.” I remember him as a great artist who inspired me personally to take risks and let my own creativity come through. He was greatly respected in the Latino community and was always there to help out so many organizations, schools and friends.
We will miss you …
He was the best of the best. A great friend who was always sincere and great company. Of the greatest character and extremely gracious.
He was not only my teacher ,but also a friend. Someone who inspire’s you do do better in life and who with just a few word can give you something in life ,with out actually giving it to you. I as a student of Narezo at Central high school will truly miss him,For we shared something in common (the love of art).I will remember you alway’s Mr.Jose Narezo.
Sr. Narezo was a example of what we should all aspire to be; a great human being that always put others before self. His talents and productivity were awesome and will serve as his legacy. His friendship and character will serve as reminders for us to love life as he did. I was priviliged to have him as a friend.
He will be forever creating masterpieces in heaven.
What a fitting tribute it would be to name the Grandville Avenue Arts Academy after Mr. Narezo in honor of his commitment to the city and the children and the use of art in an urban setting. What does would it take?
