Baby Bump by Rachael Ruiz

December 24th, 2008 at 7:32 pm by Rachael Ruiz under News

I have received some emails from people wondering about my belly these days. In fact, several weeks ago, one man wrote in with a pretty funny question. He asked if I’d eaten the whole Thanksgiving turkey myself, or if I was having a baby. I am indeed close to 35 weeks pregnant (my due date is February 2)… and everything is going great!

This is my first child, and I can honestly say it’s been a very educational and awesome experience. And as many parents already know, one filled with sleepless nights (it’s just so hard to get comfortable!) and a brand new respect for parenthood. Even now, I find it difficult to put into words. Forget about love at first sight… it’s more like love at first ultrasound and first kick.

When the baby is due, I will be taking some time off work. The plan right now is to return after my maternity leave is over.

So to all you parents out there… my hats off to you… I am so excited to finally join the club!

    Rachel,
I am so happy for you and you have many people praying and hoping the best for you and your family. The reason my name on this comment is Disgusted is because I am so disgusted at the comments left on this blog by ” Hater ” I find it so sad that someone could be so unhappy with themselves that they could leave such hurtful comments about a subject that is so wonderful. I am praying that the person who left thoes comments be touched and their heart be softend to the fact of life I pray that this person see that they only make themselves look foolish and cowradley by leaving such a comment. Please do not let what they had to say hurt you or discourge you. You are just as beautiful now as you were before learning of wonderful opportunity at motherhood and I am sure you will be just as beautiful after your blessing is in your arms. You see if the person who left that comment had any morals at all they would know true beauty is on the inside and you Rachel are beautiful! May this person have a joyous season and may God have mercy on them for the obviously know not what they do!! Many congratultions to you and your family You are in out thoughts and prayer. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

  5. Karen says:

Congratulations, Rachel! How exciting! I rarely read blogs and I never respond to blogs…however…I am appalled that the two disgusting and hateful responses from “Hater” are even shown on this web site. Please remove them if at all possible, as soon as possible.

Vulgar language has only one acceptable place – and that is inside the deranged head of the insignificant person who wrote those ugly words.

What a pathetic life that eprson must lead…I feel deeply sorry for that person. I also hope the eprson does not own an animal or have any family – how horrible their life/lives must be if that is the case.

Congratualtions again, Rachle – and YOU KNOW, you have everyone’s sincere best wishes!!

Merry Christmas! And best to you in 2009 with your new family addition!

  6. Sue says:

Congrats Rachael. Can’t wait to see pictures on the website. Have a Happy Holiday season.

  7. Rachael Ruiz says:

Thank you so much for the kind and supportive words. A new life is definitely something to be celebrated.

Unfortunately, the person who posted those negative words has defaced our website before. It’s a shame… but more than that, it makes you feel truly sorry for those who would do such a thing.

All the best to all of you, and your families. Be safe… and have a very happy holiday.

Rachael you are just glowing and are beautiful in your pregnancy. February 2 is my only granddaughter’s birthday, she will turn 4 in 2009. It just seems like yesterday she was born, they do grow so fast! I was the one awhile back that told you in one of your blogs that I had seen all 4 of my grandchildren born, because they were born at home by a lay midwife. Three boys and then along came Katie in 2005.

I wish you and your husband the very best, what an absolute joy! I did not see any bad postings on here, so they must have removed them, but I’m glad they did – I don’t like to see disgusting blog posts on here either, it’s not right.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year, and it will be with your blessing of a baby! :)

  11. Dan says:

Congrats Rachael to you and your husband! I wish blessings and great joy as you anticipate the birth of your first child!!! Its hard for me to remember when my kids were new borns (I have a 12 year old, a 14 year old and a 16 year old) They are TRULY BLESSINGS as I’m sure you’ll soon find out! Disregard Hater. He would like nothing more than a response. Its too bad but HE NEEDS HELP! That is all I want to say about that.
GOD BLESS YOU RACHAEL and your family!!!!

  14. Marti B. (Grandville) says:

I’m sorry too Rachael for Mr. Bitter up above (Randall). How sad that people have to be so nasty, especially on a public blog and smashing such a nice person! Merry Christmas and again, congratulations to you and your husband. :)

  17. Stephanie from Kentwood says:

Rachael best of luck to with the remainder of your pregnancy! Enjoy the peace and quiet you have now, because come Feb., life as you know it changes forever. Having a baby truly does change everything. Enjoy each and every minute with the little peanut that you can, because it is true, they do grow so fast. I never really believed that old saying until I had my first child who somehow has gotten to be 5 1/2 years old already!!! :)
God Bless you, little peanut and your family.

  18. Marty says:

Congrats Rachel. Enjoy the years that their young. I do hope you will return to WOODTV, you are an assist to the show. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

  19. Vin says:

A warm congratulations to you and your husband Rachael! I don’t know what’s going on there at Wood-8. Let’s see in the last year Emily Linnert, Emily Zangaro, Dee Morrison and now you are/were all “con nino”. Must be that anchor chair. You ought to put a label on it “the fantastic fertility chair” or something and sell it on eBay. Might get some good money for it. Just a thought.

    Merry Christmas!!!

  20. Lisa says:

Must be something in the water over there at WOOD. First, Emily Lenert, then Emily Zangaro, next Dee Morrison, and now Rachael?? I now where to go if I want a baby!

  21. Vin says:

Maybe it’s both, Lisa. You have to drink the water while sitting in the chair.

  22. Karen Hershey says:

Rachael; what a delight for you and your family. i never had the delight to share my life with a child, so being outside the ‘club’ of family persons I must admit I am jealous and in wonder. I pray for the dedication and stamina you will need to complete this joyous journey.
All the best to you and yours for 2009.

  23. heather says:

    congrats to rachael

  24. Judy Smith says:

Dear Rachael, You are glowing, and my husband, and I have guessed a boy, so we will be watching. You are a trooper, out there in the cold tonight, but you are bundled up, and that is a good thing. I remember when you first started on wood-tv, you were on real late with the real late news, you have come a long way baby, and I have been wondering when you were going to allow yourself to be a Ma-Ma, and we are so happy for you. Remember when someone has the guts to say such bad things to someone on a letter, they are cowardly, and very unhappy, with all the problems we have in the world today, we all neen to find the best in each other, and deal with things together, you are in our lives everyday, and we want only the best for you, and your family, of which I know nothing about, but I am sure we will know soon. We had no idea Rick, and Dee were married until their bundle of joy was born, but we were so happy, we love them too. Happy New Year to all of you, and we will be waiting to hear the wonderful news of your bundle of joy. Jim, and Judy Smith Whitehall, Michigan
