@janet hansen…. the North Star (name = Polaris) is actually a dim star in compared to the brightness of the planet Venus. Venus at its brightest is over 250 times brighter than Polaris.

@MAR 1974… Yes, Venus casts shadows. See here…

I read it somwwhere or heard it, that sometimes if Venus is bright enough, it can actually cast shadows on Earth. Have you any idea if this is true?

We were wondering if the brightness of what is know as the northstar is close to the brighness of Venus? thanks

Thanks for telling us that was Venus. I live in Florida and it was beautiful here last night and great to hear it was clear skies in Michigan for others to enjoy. All I had to do was look out the front door. What a sight.
I used to live in Michigan so check this website now and then.

That crescent moon-venus conjunction most closely resembles the flag of Pakistan, although there are six others with that combo.

I live on Lake Michigan and it was one of the most beautiful moon sets I have ever seen! It was truely God smiling back at us! Thank you, Bill for sharing the cosmic information on TV, that is why I switched channels when you did.

drove out last night…the image was crystal clear..beautiful..clarity was amazing..i wanted to call people and say get out from in front of your televisions and look at the sky….really breathtaking…
