Second pic. is Michigan Coast Guard Helicopter over the Red River. The Coast Guard has made a number of rescues over the past two weeks. North Dakota is getting a heavy snowstorm this evening. Fargo has had 5 inches so far. Temperatures are in the upper 20s to near 30, so it’s not melting. The crest is past Fargo and is actually about 20 miles from Grand Forks. The additional snow probably won’t add to the crest, but will delay getting the river back down below flood stage.

You don’t hear much about the Red River. They are saying the wind will be a big threat from this snow storm.

  2. Rumrunner(Alger Hts.) says:

I was stationed at Grand Forks AFB when the last flood went through. THe base is about 14 miles West so it stayed dry…but the city didnt fair as well.
