Gas Prices Going Down
July 7th, 2009 at 9:45 am by Bill Steffen under Bill's Blog, Inside WOOD TV8, News, Weather
The latest from Ed and Bill: “Monday, July 6, 2009, 6:30PM: Wholesale prices have dropped significantly in the past week. With Monday’s close, I have the 0-cent margin price at a pretty $2.25. So, unless there is a dramatic reversal on NYMEX the next few days, the prediction is lower prices.

Woo Hoo camping here we come. May be cool but at least we will be able to afford to go. Bill, any warm-ups coming? Bring on the warm and not so rainy weather our way, please.
The newest 6-10 Day Outlook is out:

They were a little too late on this one. As of yesterday, gas prices had already went from $2.60+ to upper $2.30′s. The price of a barrel of oil dropped $10 the past week.
Where are you seeing gas in the $2.30 range? Still around $2.60 in Lansing…
It was $2.34 at the Valero in Lake Orion, MI last nite. 2.36 at the Sunoco.
Not sure if you’re aware – but Lake Orion is over by Detroit and not near the source of this blog
Its still 2.65 on the NW side of GR.

Not sure why, but Grand Rapids seems to always lag the Detroit area by a day or two. If you really want to know what’s going to happen to prices, all you need to do is watch Detroit.
Check out the historical chart (try 3 months) and then compare it to Detroit, MI in the 2nd slot:

Sorry about the high gas prices over there! Valero was down to $2.31 on my way home from work.
Evil oil companies lowering prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…………. =)
It’s all part of our plan to lull you into complacency. Muhhhhaaahahaaa…..
It’s a “Big Oil” conspiracy!
Great to hear this for us Michiganders who need every dime we can hold on to. Big oil has enough money to run a whole country.
Thats good with everyhing else going up we dont need gas prices going up. I remember in 98 it was 1.03 for gas lol.
Gee Tyler you are still a young one…I rember back in 72 it was 28¢…(:

what ever happened to Jennifer K?
I wish that gas stations were still required to post a notice if they were selling gasoline blended with ethynol. Granholm dropped that requirement. Ethynol blends are less efficient, harmful to some fuel injection systems and they tend to absorb water. They should be less expensive but are usually sold at par with unblended gasoline. I know that Speedway, Wesco and Admiral gas is blended with ethynol.
What was the lowest we paid per gallon over the winter and spring? I’m Mr. short term memory!
Greed is still GREED! Even if it is on a lower level!
