EF-1 Tornado in Beaumont, TX

A Tornado hit the Parkview Mall in Beaumont, Texas about 3 PM Tuesdady Eastern Time. The roof is off part of the WalMart. Part of the roof has also collapsed at the Kohl’s and there is damage to Macy’s, a Barnes & Noble, a Petco an Office Depot and several other stores. More pictures here. We understand some people were trapped in the stores. Hospitals now report treating at least 10 people. All are listed in stable condition, most treated and released for lacerations and bruises from flying debris. People watched as cars and trucks were lifted up in the air. A bystander said “cars were flying across the parking lot.” Vide0 and more pictures here. The tornado has been rated EF-1 with winds of 115 mph. At least six vehicles ended up upside-down in the mall parking lot.
thats too bad, Beaumont is such a great place.
The tornado hit at approx. 2pm not 3pm. I was there. I had stopped at the McDonald’s in the Parkdale Mall parking lot and ordered then pulled around to pay when the power went out as the tornado came thru. We had just left Office Depot where my son works. He and his wife stopped in to check his work schedule and I waited for them in the parking lot just minutes before the tornado hit. I thank you lord for sparing us yet again from a tornado and for no deaths.
Cathy it says 3pm Tuesday EASTERN time, Texas is CENTRAL, not the same time zone Michigan time right now is 4:30 am and that makes Texas time 3:30 am.
