<–YES, I saved this picture from last year. I think I used it 16 times! Now, if you’re anywhere near my age, you’ll remember this. The running gag was Bullwinkle the magician trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat. He’d pull out a tiger, a bear, a rhinoceros – never a rabbit. In the last gag Bullwinkle comes to center stage and announces he’s going to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Rocky responds: “But that trick never works!” Bullwinkle: “This time for sure!! PRESTO!!” (…and he pulls Rocky out of the hat). Yes sports fans, it’s time for Bullwinkle the magician to reappear at Ford Field once again. We’re all waiting to see if this is the year Bullwinkle can pull the rabbit out of the hat. One more time we get a high draft pick…again we use it on the big-time, big-play guy…again we have a winning pre-season. And again I’m Rocky saying, “But that trick never works!” Here’s you’re chance to predict. Leave a comment with your guess (one per person) on the Lions won/loss record in the regular season. At the end of the season, we’ll see who comes closest. Maybe I can even get promotion to throw in a coffee mug or t-shirt for a prize for the best guess before Sunday (Sept. 13). Ok I will go first 3-13.
They are going to surprise alot of people. No playoffs but a very respectable 7-9 record.
Playoffs next year. I guarantee it.

I’ll go with 3-13. Looking at the schedule, it’s hard to find three games they should win, but they’re overdue to win a couple anyway.
When will they learn that you can draft QB’S, RB’S, WR’S, and TE’S forever, but you’ll never build a good team without an offensive line and a defense?
2 – 14 is as good as I can hope for.

Prediction from an old woman – they’ll be respectable first half of season (as usual) – and bomb second half…soooooo maybe 7-9???
I wish the Lions the best and I think they will be very competitive in most games but I’m guessing 5-11 this year. They just don’t have enough talent to be a playoff team this year.

I like Stafford and am very encouraged by the direction of our team. Even after several considerable upgrades in the offseason, we still have 2 big weaknesses (our defensive backs and our offensive line).
We also have a very tough schedule.
I say 4 wins this year.
You westsiders need to get to Ford Field if you haven’t done so. What a stadium!!!!!!
I’m going to pass on that until they air out the stink from last year. That may take a while…

4-12 and that is being optimistic. they will get 2 of them wins and the end of regular seasons since teams already in the playoffs will be playing more of their second string.
I’ll go 6-10 Bill, but always hoping for much more.

Billiam, I say 7-9! There will be many shootouts with this much improved offense and O-line. D-Line will be a major problem. The biggest Lion Fan in Lake Co.

I am going with 3-13. You win games with good guys in the trenches, and both the offensive and defensive lines are not good at all.
Well, normally not always, however, win a team get a brand new coaching staff or even when they get a new head coach they have a losing season, so I will go with 4-12!

I’m with Figursky… sub 500. Look, when you build a house you don’t start with the roof do you? Forget the “flash” and build your foundation! Get the offensive line up to task then go for flair. Flair does nothing if they are constantly on the run from a penetrating defense and getting sacked. Hard to throww the ball when you are under a pile of defensivemen isn’t it? Hmm…

Hoping for an AH-HA Momment I would have to say 3. One for each of the line backers and One for the odd man out ? After all SH– happens.

I have to go with 4-12, but certainly won’t feel badly if they show me a thing or two!! Either way, they are a Michigan team, so we will all be hoping they have a better showing than last year (they can’t do any worse).
