Viral push “Paranormal Activity” coming to West Michigan

“Paranormal Activity” being ‘demanded’ for West Michigan theaters
**UPDATE** Now that “Paranormal Activity” has received 1 million ‘demands’, Paramount Pictures will be releasing the movie nationwide Friday, October 16th. In West Michigan, we know that “Paranormal Activity” will be playing at Celebration! Rivertown.

Its the little movie that’s getting a lot of buzz… and now my sources say the horror/thriller with its tiny $15,000 budget is coming to Grand Rapids and Lansing…. and possibly Mt. Pleasant on Friday, October 16th.
“Paranormal Activity” is shot documentary style, its about a couple’s home video investigation into what is making noises in their home at night.
The movie has a scary tension that builds up to the end… a lot like the small budget “Blair Witch Project” that became a big hit in 1999.
It was first screened at midnight screenings to college-age audiences in New York City on September 25th, then expanded to 20 more markets the following weekend.
Audiences can ‘demand’ the movie come to their market by going to a website, registering, and signing up their city… apparently, if there are one million total demands, Paramount Pictures will release the movie nationwide.
As I write this, Grand Rapids metro area is 54th… and moving up.
To ‘demand’ the movie to come to your market, or to try to get one million ‘demands’ to make it a wide release, go to the Paranormal Activity website.
