Hallelulah! 1600 soles saved!
Sounds like a story for a Sunday. When tropical storm Ketsana roared into the Philippines in the last week of September, employees of the Marikina Shoe Museum rushed to save their most prized possession, 800 (of the 1220) pairs of shoes owned by former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos. Many were among the most expensive shoes you could buy, some decorated with real gold. About 100 pair did get wet, but they have been cleaned and are now pretty much as good as new. Ketsana was responsible for over 300 fatalities and hundreds of thousands made homeless due to severe flooding.
