Warmest since Oct. 8
Monday was the warmest day in Grand Rapids since Sept. 27 and the warmest day of October so far. We ended a streak of 21 days in a row with temperatures below average. The month of October is still averaging 6.3° cooler than average in G.R. and 9.7° cooler than average in Kalamazoo. We’ve had just 29% sunshine this month (average is 44%) and we haven’t had a single day with more than 75% sunshine. It’ll be a mild day today with highs in the mid-upper 50s north of Grand Rapids and the low 60s to the south (mid 60s Indiana border). Looks wet and chilly for Friday and Saturday.
I was outdoors for a while, it’s real nice. I was hoping for a warm October.
I was outside mowing and raking today I wonder if this is going to be one of the last nicest days this year only time will tell.
Finally a nice day!! 62° here now with full sunshine.
Bill has stated that he thinks this winter will be colder then average even though the NWS is calling for a warm, dry winter. The NWS came out that this is one of the coldest starts to October in history.

Note that some of the past cold October starts were fowled by warm winter while others were not. Also note that both the NWS and acculess weather are Both focasting a warm to near average winter here in Michigan!

but as alway time will tell mean while get out and enjoy this nice weather we are now having because even a “warm” winter in Michigan is cold.

I don’t care what anyone says michigan has the nicest weather, whenever we start complaining about it the weather changes. Try living down south in Atlanta Georgia I lived there from 1980 to 1984 and hate the weather. Its very humid 9 months out of the year, there’s very little fall color, and when it snows you thought the world was ending and you dare not go on the roads. So I’ll take blizzards, bitter cold, blistering heat and humidity because I know it doesn’t last long.
Just got back from walking the dog….tree frogs singing like summer! Maybe we skipped winter, LOL ????
Looks like Wednesday (10/21) could be our shot of reaching 70 or better here in GR.

Looks like a close call. Hoping we don’t make it, if we’re this close we might as well set another record.
I’m looking forward to this afternoon so that I can finally finish some of my fall yard chores. I want to clean out the gardens.
Must be gobal warming
