Reed Timmer

He may be the most famous storm chaser in the history of mankind – Grand Rapids own Reed Timmer will be migrating south in December to do some amazing atmospheric adrenalin-pumping storm chasing in Argentina. It’s springtime in South America and they’ve had several severe weather outbreaks.  Here’s pictures of Reed.   If you’re interested in S. American Weather, check out the METSUL site (try using google translator).

If anyone looks at the longer range it shows very cold air, but when you get closer to that date it turns out being warmer. Now it shows a rain turning to wind whipped snowstorm on the 17th and a few days from now it will show warmer with rain or with no storm at all. So the models are having a hard time locking into a colder pattern, so my guess is that we really won’t see any snow till after thanksgiving. Oh and that guy looks like fixer on a rage knowing that there’s a blizzard coming. Just having fun with ya fixer no harm intended OK had to pick on someone this morning and I don’t want to get something started bloggers. And Bill that site does help I’ll be leaving in just under a few weeks for two months down in the northern parts so any info is appreciated thanks.

From watching storm chasers I think Reid will be “formerly” from GR very shortly… Those guys are dangerously nuts… I just hope they recover the tape because their shots are awesome!!!

Wow, I knew Reed when he was in middle and high school on the Science Olympiad team. Looks like he grew up a little, or perhaps maybe not :) Way to go Reed!

Storm Chasers on Discovery channel should just be all about him and his crew instead of that piece of crap always-breaking-down mock tank and that annoying cameraman.

their is always some kind of conflick at times between the two teams just about every week.

  7. Call me ignorant, but I never knew S. America got severe weather other than hurricanes and thunderstorms. Wow!
