Freeze Watch

We have a Freeze Watch in effect for early Friday morning. Looks like upper 20s to low 30s. There may be a very light wind up on the ridge where the apples are in NW Kent Co. Hope we can get through this one. Next week, we’ll probably be low-mid 30s for lows Sunday and Monday AM. It looks warmer for early May (beyond the usual climatological warm-up). In the meantime…it’ll become partly sunny and breezy today (Thu.) with some wind gusts up to 30 mph. Only upper 40s at the beaches and mid 50s inland. Friday looks nice, cool early but some sun and lighter winds. We’ll likely see some (cold) rain on Saturday (esp. south of G.R.) with temps. most of the day. Sunday looks dry, cool early – but pleasant. It looks wet for the middle of next week with temperatures back to 70+ on Weds. Four days in a row with no tornadoes in the U.S.
12Z GFS puts down a stripe of several inches of snow across southern Michigan this weekend. Hope not!

This is getting just down right stupid. I feel sorry for the farmers. Where the heck is this “warm” spring bill?
We are having a FANTASTIC Spring. Sunnier and warmer than average and that type of weather will just keep coming. Enjoy the GREAT Spring weather people!

Yesterday was exactly the average high temperature.
The avg low for yesterday was 41. The last day with an avg low above freezing was 4/1 – and we’ve had a lot of frost this month. So the highs have been temperate but the lows have been regularly below avg.
Not to mention that blast of icy cold wind coming out of the north earlier this week. Felt like 30s rather than 50s.
March was 15 degrees warmer than average and April so far about 2 degrees warmer than average. Sounds like a warm spring to me.
Fixxxer Bill isn’t God, he has faith and belief in God but he is NOT God and he can NOT control the weather.
The models and especially the GFS model are a joke. 100% unreliable. All of the models out past a few days are a ridiculous joke! We will have mostly sunny weather this weekend with temps well up into the 50′s. Just two days ago it showed GR getting some snow with temps in the low 40′s. Blow up the computer and start from scratch when it comes to the models!!!

No but I see that you have forgotten your meds today. You might want to take a double dose along with a few Sprites to help wash it down. Then you might realize that we have been having and will continue to have some GREAT Spring weather!!
The CPC shows MI with well above average temps in the 6 to 14 day outlook. Keep the GREAT Spring weather coming. ROCK n ROLL is here to stay baby!!!

Well it goes with the territory. We always have freezes well into April and sometime into May. The farmers may not like it, however they should be used to it because this has been happening for hundreds of years and it will keep happening for hundreds of more years!
April has been a horrid month, no if ands or buts about it.
It hasn’t been that bad at all considering where we’ve been compared to are annual averages.

The trees have blossomed, the birds are out, the grass is green. Temps have been above average…..jusy horrid!!!

April hasn’t been too bad at all (with the exception of our “snow day”). I have seen worse so I will take what this April has given us.

With a cold weekend on tap it looks very likely March will average warmer than April. Amazing !
12Z NAM gives Ann Arbor about 5″ of snow. Models have gone bonkers….not accounting for the warm surface temps.
I used more firewood in the past week than I used the whole month of March. And the strawberries were covered and still froze.Not a lot of blooms on the apple trees either and it is too cold for the bees to come out of their hives to pollenate them. This nice spring weather isn’t good for our food supply!
I have fired up my wood stove a few times in the last 4 weeks. Not using the furnace. Just been bearing with it. I should get er going now tonight as it is only 62.6° in the house. We just cover up good with blankets at night and she warms up nice during the day. That’s more wood i save for next winters brutal cold that is coming.
Rain and snow may mix but I’m not so sure it’ll stick. Although, timing is everything! If the snow comes right after the frost (if we get that) it may be a bit white. This is it, a warm up is coming.

No problem. My mother lives in Illinois in the summer, and in Tennessee in the winter, so I try and see her when I can get away. She will be 93 in July. My mother-in-law is very ill (a losing battle with cancer) and we have spent time taking care of her.
