Thundershowers from east of Big Rapids to NW of Holland along a front. There’s a Special Marine Warning for the lakeshore. Could be some hail in those. They’ll move ESE. Rainfall amounts as of 9 PM: 0.37″ Benton Harbor, 0.29″ Holland, 0.28″ Kalamazoo, 0.20″ Battle Creek, 0.18″ Jackson, 0.16″ Grand Rapids, 0.08″ Lansing and just a trace in Muskegon. South Haven is reporting “flurries” at 7 PM. Lower Michigan is in the General Thunderstorm Outlook for this tonight. Most of you won’t see any lightning. With very cool air coming across the warmer water of Lake Michigan, lake-effect rain showers are possible thru Sunday morning and there is a chance of a little small hail, a rumble of thunder or even an isolated waterspout. At 6:30 PM, the mid-Lake Michigan buoy showed a water temperature of 67.3. The buoy just off Holland had a water temperature of 66 and 4.9 ft. waves and the buoy off Ludington reported 4.9 foot waves. We go to -2C at 850 mb (about a mile above ground) Sunday morning, so that will provide a very significant contrast with the 65-degree water (it’ll cool a degree or two by Sunday AM).
Mr. S. put 100 % chance of rain for sat that way it wont rain. Hehe seems to be the trend with mother nature sticking it to us.

This past week was beatitful, next week looks beautiful. Two rainy days in two weeks, and you hate fall.

Thanks for sharing that. GE has taken some heat of late. Maybe they’re trying to balance the equation. Look at the 80 Congresspersons who own GE stock…a mix of Democrat and Republican. You like to bet on the winner. I wonder if they think Romney is going to win? Open Secrets is an interesting website to peruse.
It is interesting to look over, and it’s interesting trying to figure out what each individual/company/etc. is expecting in return of these campaign contributions.
These companies give to both parties. It’s a lot more complicated than wondering what they expect to get from each. Their lobiest are in the offices of both parties They will sometimes give more to the opposing party, of their choice, to influence. This is just another example of corporate America running our government, and not the people.

Note the part in ( ). It says “WARMER THAN AVERAGE!

Rain showers, possibly mixed with sleet, mainly after 8am. Some thunder is also possible. High near 58. West northwest wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Michael they just mean little or no accumulation you know sleet can accumulate they should just say little or no sleet accumulation lol!
Nobodies going to get any sleet or snow.
Fixxxer sleet is very possible tomorrow read the NWS forecast disscussion and you will see how ever snow is very unlikely lol!
We should get one thing straight: Sleet and small hail (graupel) are made through different processes. They’re both small chunks of frozen falling water, so whether or not I should give a care, in the grand scheme of life, about what it’s called is up for debate. The forecast should really say showers, possibly with small hail. The automatic graphic-to-text forecast writing software is limited and doesn’t give them the option to put small hail, so they have to say ice pellets which gets translated into sleet. Unfortunate for people like me. So fixxxer is right: nobody’s going to get any sleet or snow tomorrow. But some people WILL get small hail (graupel), much like we did several days ago.
Well I’m really pissed right now anyways so I couldn’t care less if it were snowing sleeting raining or hailing tomorrow im just going to say one thing my parents are getting,on my last a**!

On the bright side… The CPC is rather bullish on three of four maps with above normal temps – 8-14 day, one month and three month. And below normal precip on the first thee maps. That could lead into a very colorful and early Fall change of leaves if that pans out. Also, the hot dry Summer we had along with the late frost might also push the colors up by as much as a week or two. So where peak usually occurs in mid-October, it might peak as early as the first or early second week of the month.

That’s highly intriguing…
What they mean to convey is that some showers tomorrow could have small/soft hail (graupel), not sleet. Much like the small hail that fell in some locations with the showers a few days ago.
