Weekend Sports Thread – Mon. update

November 2nd, 2012 at 8:20 pm by under Bill's Blog, Weather

Well, I’ve taken out the Tigers logo.  They’re done…and it looks like the NHL may be done before they get startedConsidering the low attendance for the NBA (and the Pistons in particular – and the figures in the article look to be high compared to the video we’ve shot and the picture at the link), we may have to send Jack Doles out to cover bowling leagues after the football season is done.  Exciting game at Notre Dame!  Wow!  Triple overtime and the Fighting Irish march on!  They have 3 games left – 2 should be wins against Boston College (2-6) and Wake Forest at S. Bend.  The tough game will be USC on the road.  USC piled up 51 points against #4 Oregon Saturday (they still lost, but that’s a lot of points).    Western went score-happy in the 4th quarter and came back to beat Central 42-31.   Ferris lost a close one  to Northwood 38-33.    Michigan St. came sooooo close against Nebraska, losing 28-24.  Michigan took care of Minnesota handily 35-13.

Lions win, pretty handily.  It was Jacksonville…the schedule gets tougher now as they head to Minnesota next week, then take on the Packers and Houston after that.  The Bears rocked…ahead by 26 points after the first quarter.  The Chicago defense rocked scoring touchdowns on a blocked punt and an interception return.  Tillman caused 4 fumbles as the Bears racked up 51 points.  The Bears take on Houston on Sunday Night  football next week on WOOD, TV-8.

The Packers Lions rivalry is huge in the U.P. Man both teams hate each other up here. Were 110 miles north of Green Bay and 440 miles from Detroit. There are a few Viking fans as you get to the Western U.P. I am a huge Packer fan myself, they are fortunate to be 6-3 but they need to heal up from injuries and luckily the bye week is here.

  11. Jevon Murphy (Chicago) says:

The win 2 straight hopefully they can carry the momentum over through the next few games, so they can at least win 10 games and make the playoffs, we’ll see!!!??? Vikings upcoming, should be, hopefully a close game!
