All the snow jumped past Muskegon…as usual. I seriously do not get the weather in Muskegon. It definitelyisits own microclimate. I am beginning to conclude that we either get missed while everybody else gets hit, or we get dumped on. No realign between. Time and time again, I have seen this stupid dry air bubble over us. Grrr. Down sloping?

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Spoke too soon….finally got a nice burst of snow that left a coating. This next band crossing the lake looks good. Hopefully…

Snowed like crazy in Ludington for about 15 min. Very heavy at times. As of right now there looks to be a solid 1.25″ – 1.50″ at my location just South of Ludington.

        1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

          Nice :)

  3. Eric (SE Mason County) says:

Have I would guess, dont have time to measure, an inch of snow up here. I have to brush off the car.

  4. Hello everyone!! I was out at 2:00AM EST and I documented the snow here in Greenville. We had a heavier batch develop right overhead! Video and photos are up! Click Here to see!! I hope you’re all doing great, and all had a Happy Thanksgiving. :)

    1. Jeff (Fremont) says:

Good stuff Charles, love to see weather pictures and videos, keep em coming.

      1. Thanks Jeff! I will definitely be bringing more snow footage to the table this winter! Might be having my chase partner Michael Phelps up here at some point in December as well! We will be live streaming if he does come up!

        1. (posting again because I made the mistake of putting http:// in twice in the website field and my comment ended up awaiting moderation… D’OH!)

      2. LOL dang it I am all sorts of confused right now. I used the wrong email to submit my comments, I put http:// in twice for my website field up above by accident, I’m awaiting moderation, gah, what a cluster… LOL. Sorry I posted twice before Bill! Just me not paying attention/being dumb. Rarely happens, but hey, we’re all human.

  5. 1.4 inches of snow on the ground here in Breckenridge in Gratiot County
    see pic

  6. Jordan (Twin Lake) says:

Wow we sure did get snow overnight we have about 1″ here right now :) so far this season we have had 2.3″ of snow here in Twin Lake :)

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Seriously? That’s twice this weekend that you’ve had a nice inch or so and I only got a dusting.

    1. Jeff (Fremont) says:

You got a nice little coating there Mark, thanks for sharing the photo.

  7. Lisa (Caledonia) says:

Woke up to a nice blanket of snow here in the Saginaw area where we were staying for the holidays… About 1″, covering the grass… :)

  8. Irish coffee says:

FWIW: hr 372 on latest GFS(6z) takes 850′s down close to -30 for MN/ND border area!…but i know, it’s the GFS – so add a few degrees(warmer:).Even so, getting -20C w/moist cyclonic flow/fetch over L Mi. would trigger quite the LES outbreak!

    1. michael g (SE GR) says:

The 00Z didn’t have that, but most of the other recent runs have been showing the same thing around the same time.

      1. Irish coffee says:

RIGHT! 6z FAIL!! Gone w/ the WIND on 12& 18z runs…totally expect JB to throw in his Italian tidey whitey towel & surrender with a “winter CANCEL” TWEET any day now… probably along the lines of- “NO winter east of Miss. R until at lEast Inauguration Day….have decided to focus more on heavy lifting…in fact, i can now bench my son Garrett 50 x’s 4 sets(he’s 6’2″ 250lbs); if only i could bench my wife’s COOKING!! Plan is to leave UNhappy Valley for OKC very soon-er rather than later, as snow-hater Deb has been kind enuf to invite us(all Bastardi’s) to stay/spend the winter in tornado alley in her 2.5 bedroom/1/2 bath in-efficiency!! ciao”

        1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

NOOOO! Deb will brainwash Joe into a snow-hating type. His tweets after that will always be “Folks, Winter is NEVER coming! I will laugh all winter when all you will get is flurries at most! I told you so!”

  9. Dave E says:

Awesome. We got about 4 inches up here in Frankfort and the South part of sleeping bear dunes.

  10. Hardy Tom says:

Bill, when are we ever going to get a good ol’ blizzard ? I’m tired of looking at all the tree droppings ,aka. sticks,!

  11. Steelie says:

    Good Day,

Near Breton and 52nd… All I have is a green lawn and a garden I have to finish cleaning up for Winter… ;-)

  12. Rocky (Rockford) says:

    1. No snow this week
    2. Above average temperatures will continue right through the first week of December.
    3. There is a 100% chance that the HYPE about cold arctic air arriving around Dec 10th will continue.
    4. There is a 95% chance this arctic air will never arrive or will be significantly warmer than the models show currently.
    5. 100% chance that I will be golfing today and next week!

    1. Stephen says:

      6. You posting the same post for at least 3 months straight.

      1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

        7. Rock on Stephen, I am glad that you are listening and reading my posts!! Keep up the good work!!

        1. Nathan says:

And there are no above average temps!

    2. Deb (Oklahoma City) says:

There is a 100% chance that the hype will turn into complaining and I will say I told ya so to all the snow lovers!

      1. michael g (SE GR) says:

There is a 100% chance that the highlight of your life will be trolling on Bill’s blog, and hoping for more food stamps.

        1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Wow, Michael…I find Deb to be irritating too….but your posts: a bit harsh, eh?

        2. fixxxer says:

Maybe your the one on assistance and food stamps mike. Is that why your jealous of everyone and put everyone down?

        3. INDY says:

          JUST STAMP IT!!! INDYY…

        4. Jack says:

          Deb ( O C ), Is Fixxxers Daughter !!!!!! IMHO …… ;-)

    3. Ned S. (Now in South Holland) says:

Hit ‘em long and straight Rocky.

    4. michael g (SE GR) says:

What do you mean, “above average temps will continue”? That implies that it’s above average right now.

      1. Travis (Oxford, MI) says:

I believe he means that CPC is saying above average temps for at least the next two weeks… and Wood is showing at least one 50 already.

  13. Nathan says:

Who are the snow lovers? I dont like snow, im just guessing this winter will be cold from the data. The is sometimes wrong, but not always.

  14. michael g (SE GR) says:

    Joe Bastardi‏@BigJoeBastardi

Big cold high may reach northeast this weekend to stop plains warmup. Weatherbell covers how neg AO/NAO couplet could mean lakes-ne trbl

    1. fixxxer says:

You mean your big daddy right mikey?

  15. Jeff (S.E. Ionia County) says:

Ok, whens the first snowstorm gang ? Dec 11th ? Lets get this PARTY started !!

  16. OWK says:

So,another mild winter? Another year of no snowboarding I guess…

This state is turning into texas/florida,too much mild or warm weather and nothing but art and flower festivals. No wonder all the people my age move. Oh, find jobs too.

Then you have the weird people here (guessing most of you are 55+) wishing for no snow. Really? You see how bad this past spring and summer were across the US? And you want less snow? hurp.

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Here, here! I moved to Michigan because it is a four season state with real winters….bahahahaha in the four years I have lived here it’s been SUMMER, eternal fall, SUMMER, eternal fall, one normal winter, eternal fall, SUMMER from “you know where” last from January 2012 to present….

  17. bnoppe(Albion) says:

WINTR STARTS DEC 21ST If It were JAN 25th and there was still no snow then I’d be upset but it’s Still NOV

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

I think it is because this has been the 4th November in a row with very few winter treats…at least foe SW Michigan…

      1. fixxxer says:

No snow is fine by me. Id just like some sunshine. Tired of this gloomy crap.

        1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Once in a while, we do agree fix. :) I love snow because it helps to brighten up the brown “blahness” outside. If it refuses to snow, it may as well be sunny!

    2. Travis (Oxford, MI) says:

That’s like saying it shouldn’t be warm til the first actual day of summer.

I’d have to review the averages, but something like 25% of our total snow should have fallen before winter officially starts.

  18. This is our averages.. e

  19. Nathan says:
