Happy Snowy New Year?December 21st, 2012 at 1:55 am by Bill Steffen under Bill's Blog, Weather
Click on the images to enlarge. OK, it’s the GFS, but let’s take a look. This is the overnight GFS model for New Year’s Day evening and Jan. 2 morning. Here’s the 384-hr. which shows about a 511 thickness and the air coming across Lake Michigan for flurries/snow showers. Looks like a cool and perhaps snowy start (at least relative to this month) to 2013 if this is right. The overnight European has it basically cool and dry…an inch of snow or a little over that today and then about 2″ or 2-3″ next Weds. night. BTW, I won’t do a sports thread, but the Lions get to face the Atlanta Falcons Saturday night (8:30 PM on ESPN – yes, that’s right, ESPN). Earlier Saturday we have the delightful R+L Carriers Bowl followed by the MAACO Bowl. I have Jan. 1 off, so I can stay home and see if the Big Ten can eek out a bowl win or two (four Big Ten teams play on Jan. 1).
