Yeah…seen the forecast…its been that way all year soo far. All the snow is north of muskegon, east of gr and south of holland…and nonthing in the area we service. Just another non profit year again. Ready to start grass cuts and other spring landscaping projects that are already to go.

It was Dec. 2001 – We had 51.7″ of snow in the last 9 days of December. It just kept on coming. I remember we got up to 18″ on the ground here at WOOD and it would have been a lot more if it had not been real fluffy and quickly compacted. From the evening of Dec. 23rd thru Jan. 3rd, the warmest temperature was 28. Then we had less than 1/2″ of snow in the first two weeks of January.

The greater Grand Rapids area will remain snow free this winter. All snow will be to the west or east of the greater Grand Rapids area. This trend will hold for several years to come. Winter is dead, long live winter.

I agree, not getting much use out of the plow. I’m really thinking this will be my last year. Not worth the trouble anymore.

My family down in Dallas and Tarrant Counties (Texas) got more than a dusting this afternoon — a welcome Christmas present for our two young grandsons! They built a couple little snowmen on the deck out back and then went sledding on a hill nearby. It’ll be colder there tonight than here but their snow will probably be long gone by week’s end AND it may be all they get this season.

I saw that too, they have had it on their forecast for awhile with a “?” after it until today. He said it would be lake effect with the coldest air of the season.

I think in dec of 2002, gr got about 50″ of lake effect in about a week starting Christmas. A sw lake effect persisted.

If the transfer happens later, it means more of the snow making it further north…it’s definitely possible. As always, it will be watching the radar time soon…
