Australia update 1/15: After one really hot day on 1/4, Hobart hasn’t reached 80 since. They were only in the mid 60s on the 13th and 14th. Sidney had two days of blistering heat with 109 and 97 on the 8th and 9th – but it’s been cooler than average of late with highs of just 72 on the 13th and 14th with showers. Ayers Rock, usually a very hot place in mid summer, had highs only in the mid 80s on the 12th-14th. Five of the last six days have been cooler than average in Melbourne. Canberra had a very cool high of 72 on the 14th and Adelaide, with an average high of 85, has only been in the low-mid 70s the last three days.

Bastardi quit Accuweather, but hasn’t quit being the “chief forecaster” (what a title) at Weatherbell. Not sure if Accuweather is better off with or without him. I do consider Bastardi to be better than Henry Margusity and his meteorological madness though.

LOL! Good point about not having winter – we DO all sound like kids waiting for Santa – and just like the Jolly Elf – winter has gone back to the North Pole, too.
