Much of Mississippi, Arkansas and Northern Alabama has now had more snow this winter than Chicago.  Little Rock has had more snow this winter than Muskegon.  These pictures are from the NWS Jackson MS Facebook Page.   The first is from near Meridian MS.  The second is near Madison MS.  Jackson MS had 1.7″ – which is more than the 1.4″ that Chicago has had this winter.  Ackerman MS reported 6″ of snow.  Cullman, Alabama had 4″ of new snow.  Schools were closed and numerous slideoffs were reported.  Thundersnow was reported in parts of N. Alabama, SE Tennessee and up into Virginia.  A foot of snow was reported in parts of the Smoky Mts. up into Virginia.  At Tupelo, MS, the high temp. Thurs. was 35, the 4th day out of the last 5 with highs only in the 30s.

The snow in Cullman Alabama was CRAZY! Accidents everywhere and 4 inches of snow hardly seems like coat wearing weather to us…. :) hope we get some snow here soon!
