I have noticed flake size getting bigger over the past couple hours.

  2. Nathan says:

At my school it was barely snowing, but by the time we got to my house (SW of school) the snow really picked up in intensity. I have about 4 inches so far, hopefully more tonight!

  3. Swatz_Zoo(Cedar Springs) says:

Dusting from yesterday/last night and sun is shining. I wonder if the LE will make up here tonight because we just missed the cut off everything has been GR-South

    1. Yup (Grandville) says:

Seeing as Baldwin is in the advisory, I think your chances will be much better this time Swatz. ;)

    2. Yup (Grandville) says:

Oops, didn’t see you were in Cedartucky there… It might be a gamble!

      1. Swatz_Zoo(Cedar Springs) says:

Well yall, I think it won’t happen I think LE has the winning hand on this one with not coming near Cedartucky, don’t feel it, very, very fine light snow but you are to really look and squint to see them. But who knows maybe by tonight I’ll be like WHOA!!!

  4. Jeff(Northern Ionia County / Muir) says:

Around my house in Muir we we only received a very light dusting, but where I work in Portland we received about 1-2″. I would really like some more so i can get the snowmobile out.

  5. Stephen (North Muskegon says:

About 4-5 inches here in North Muskegon. The roads SUCKED yesterday on my ride to GR for surgery. We made it there and back safely though which was nice.

    1. Swatz_Zoo(Cedar Springs) says:

Hope all went well Stephen, glad you made it there and back safely.

  6. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

According to the point and click, another 6 inches here by tomorrow! We could make it to a foot of snow depth.

    1. Travis Ulberg (West of Martin, Allegan County) says:

Same for my location, and then another 1-3″ Thursday night into Friday.

    2. brad(Allendale) says:

I would bet we got 10-12in for sure now.and still snowing.

  7. Ash (holland) says:

We are about two blocks from the Holland State Park and we have around 9″. We have shoveled three times and each time there has been about three inches plus. The sun has been coming out and then ten minutes later it is snowing and blowing again.

  8. North side of holland says:

Bill , I sent u a video of dh tossing the water :)

  9. Swatz_Zoo(Cedar Springs) says:

Nope Cedartucky won’t get anything unless the wind does indeed change and comes from the lake due East, otherwise won’t happen again I’ll be stuck in the cut off boundry.

  10. Paul (Yankee Springs/Barry State Game Area) says:

A few miles makes all the difference, Gun Lake Deb. I’m 5 or so miles to the NE of Gun Lake, and had total of 4.2″ snow. Skies cleared right before sunrise and it hit -9 at my house this morning.

  11. kevin. w says:

Mt. Pleasant has less than 1″ on the ground for mid January so the frost is going deep into the ground for sure. Leaving the water dripping so pipes don’t freeze just in case. Where’s theee snowstorms at?

  12. arcturus says:

Curious how much of the state has little to no snow.

    1. Bill Steffen says:

  13. Allendale says:

Old Acculess is calling for another 6-10 inches by tomorrow afternoon for my area. Straight west wind tonight. We will see…

  14. Rad (Jenison/Hudsonville) says:

Stupid People need to brush there cars off, turn on there Head Lights and SLOW DOWN!!!! ive seen 3 cars doing 360′s in the road already today just in front of my house on Port Sheldon!!!

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

All three are the law too.

      1. Rad (Jenison/Hudsonville) says:

        Should be common sense!

        1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

The first one many people probably don’t do because they are lazy or rushed, the second one people probably forget because they don’t think about others being able to see them, and the third one is definitely a lack of common sense, as well as “invincibility syndrome”. Scary…

      2. Rumrunner says:

While it’s smart to do so, running during the day as far as I know, isn’t a law. I think it reads, half hour before sunrise and half hour after.

        1. Rumrunner says:

          sunset…LOL Sorry.

Mine are on all the time. Doesn’t hurt a thing to have em going.

        2. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Lol…do you mean running the lights? In some states it is. I guess Michigan isn’t one?

I agree, it is smart to have them on during the day, particularly cloudy Michigan in the winter.

  15. Jeff(Northern Ionia County / Muir) says:

The radio just told me that Ionia is expected to get 2-4″ tonight, I am really doubting that but will be very happy if we do. Anything is better than what is on the ground now.

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

      West wind coming…

  16. SS (Pwell Area) says:

Measured on a south deck…. we had between 6-7 inches this morning total!!!

  20. Irish coffee says:

PS- I bloody well try to keep snow off vehicle…+ lights…speed? depends on wx i’m on sled or motor vehicle & vis. issues

  21. Travis Ulberg (West of Martin, Allegan County) says:

My drive to Western for class wasn’t too bad, except right by home. 100ft visibility in Martin, and by the time I got south of D-Ave it was sunny the rest of the way to campus.

  22. North side of holland says:

  24. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

If anybody wants to get excited about snow potential over the next several days, particularly in the Muskegon area, read the GRR forecast discussion!

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Just ignore the very last paragraph…just them being them… :P

    2. Todd In Nunica says:

Yea whats that about a meso low…them can be interesting for sure, all in all not a whole lot of additional snow in Spring lake/muskegon (by the mall) Just drove to the mall (through spring lake then north to the mall) and checked my lots that I plowed between 2 and 5am and looks only to be an inch or two. (another easy night unless things really pick up but radar looks to be playing the smae loop over and over) I should have measured as it fell here at my house cause we are REALLy looking winterish

      1. Todd In Nunica says:

ahh now i see if I type in the zip for muskegon they have 2 inches tonight and 2 tomorrow,1 tomorrow night if I go to my bookmarked nws site (Nunica) says 4/4/2 must be they finally figured its snowing more here than west along Grand Haven/muskegon

  25. Michael (Berrien county) says:

around 4…. maybe 5 inches in spots as of late afternoon.

  26. Clint(Rothbury) says:

Well I’m up to 8″ here in Rothbury still snowing off and on with some moderate to heavy bands coming through!!!

  27. Ned S. (Now in South Holland) says:

An average of 6.5 inches at 104th and Ottogan. The roads are pretty slick in the Holland area.

  28. Steve Demers says:

I live in a subdivision in Allendale where we are protected and sheltered from the wind so our snow totals are pretty accurate. I blew two inches off my drive Monday morning and another three to four last night. Then I measured three more this morning and we have close to another two tonight … minimum nine, probably closer to ten total … roads ice and snow-packed. Reminds me of South Dakota … not fun!

To much to count here!! Roads are in rough shape & lots of blowing of snow. White outs at times.

  30. North side of holland says:

Aw , :( that guy said,it was steam

thank u for using our video clip , alas that’s my voice but thats not me tossing the water

  31. North side of holland says:

bill can u tell us the science behind this

  32. North side of holland says:

    : ) thank u

  33. Redd_Leader (Hamilton) says:

Have reports from 5 locations tonight.
Went on snowmobiles with a tape measure, and all measurements taken in areas protected from wind.

First stop was in East Saugatuck at 133rd ave and 54th st. Depth 6 inches.

Second stop was 3 miles due South of Hamilton on a trail. Depth 9 inches.

Third stop was about 7 miles SE of Hamilton at 130th Ave and 38th st. Depth 10 inches.

Fourth stop was about 5 miles SW of Dorr near 138th ave and 22nd st. Depth 7 inches.

Fifth and final stop was by far the best. About 4 miles SE of Hamilton near 131st ave and 42nd st. Depth 12 inches.

The sharp contrast in snow depths with lake effect always amuses me!

  34. Steelie says:

    Good Day,

Near Breton and 52nd… On the light side really. I won’t blame it on the “lack of snow” so much as the “intensity of the wind”. I have not found anything more than 3.5″ except of course for “mini” drifts. In fact, there are a few spots that the wind blew nearly bare to the grass (1/10″ maybe…?) And it looks like a brief warm up for Sunday/Monday at least.

BTW… I know it is TWC, but did anyone else see this?

    1. 04 GTO (gaines 68th & Kzoo) says:

we will have to wait and see. but i am fine with warmer temps!!!

    2. Brian(Grandville) says:

As goes the GFS, TWC long range predictions are about the same. Lets see how it plays out.

  35. Greg says:

10 miles south of Ionia, we have less than 1/2 inch of snow. I can still see most of the grass in the yard and fields. The heavy wind we had ripped the bed liner out of my work truck and carried it about fifty feet into a field, but almost no snow.

  36. Mr. Negative says:

ADA – Could’nt fine more than two inches in the yard, or on the deck.

  37. Crystal says:

Allendale…eyeball measurement…10-12 inches. Too dang cold to be tromping outside to get accurate measurements at this point. Besides, the snow WON’T STOP, so measurements will be different in the morning!

  38. Tom says:

How much snow do I have? Any snow is too much snow as far as I am concerned. I didn’t mind the cold and the few flurries we would see from time to time, but this snow, bitter cold temps and the high winds that we have had this past week is all a bit too much for my tastes. My dog doesn’t like it either as our twice daily walks at the park have come to an end. I am ready for it to warm back up!

  39. Sheli says:

Coopersville …. I have measured 3 different times on the top of my trash can and gotten a total of 12 1/2″… then measured 2 places on my front and back deck with no drift… 11″ packed total on each of them.
I moved here from Oklahoma and Las Vegas… LOVE this snow!!!
My kids are having a blast and get worn out in 30 min outside and sleep so much better at night!

  40. wackyred-allendale,mi says:

8″ total since snow began Monday. And still coming down

  41. Steven Demers says:

OK – we’re over one foot of snow since Sunday! Sunday and Monday we got about 6 inches, three more Monday night, two more Tuesday and two or three more Tuesday night … now another 2-3 so far today and it’s still snowing!! Total so far, about 14 inches in my subdivision on the west edge of Allendale.

  42. Steven Demers says:

  43. Shawn @Allegan says:

6″ since noon. That’s on top of the six we had. Still coming down heavy.

  44. Duwane R Ross says:

I snowblowed about 6″ yesterday, another 6-7 inches this afternoon and theres another 4″ and snowing hard at times. I live in East Muskegon

  45. Tonka says:

Zeeland close to 10″ I’m guessing total. Roads are terrible. Plows male roads even worse a times. Snow blowing yesterday and got chilled to the bone where my hands ached so bad. Then all of sudden I got really warm. Time to go in. Did driveway 3 times so far.

  46. JanieD says:

We LOVE the snow but when I let my doggy out to go pee-pee she just turns over, lays on her back and holds her legs up in the air. She hates getting snow between her toes! So, it must warm up pretty soon or her bladder is going to explode like a big water balloon!
