We have several periods of light snow coming. There is a Lake-Effect Snow Advisory until 7 PM Monday for Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien and LaPorte (Indiana) Counties. We have a Winter Weather Advisory for Calhoun, Cass, St. Joseph (MI) and Branch Counties, plus much of Northern Indiana and NW Onio. Snow showers and flurries continue. Snow may accumulate an inch inland (NE) and 2-4″ in a few favorable lakeshore areas. Roads will have slick spots. The wind has come up as expected this afternoon and caused some drifting. A band of snow later tonight nto Monday AM may produce 1/2 to 2″ of snow. That could make things a little slippery for the Monday AM commute. The next batch of light snow comes in about mid-afternoon Tuesday into Tuesday night…another 1-2″. The fourth batch of precipitation may start as a mix late Thurs. and go over to snow. The European has more precipitation than the GFS and I’ll lean that way for now. That could be several inches of snow (if it’s all snow). The European would have G.R. briefly below zero both Tues. AM and Sat. AM, though that may be a little cool. It’ll be a relatively cool week, though we should get to the mid 30s late this week. The models hint at a warm-up with some rain possible late Sunday into Monday of next week, maybe into the low-mid 40s briefly. Then, it looks cool around mid-month with temperatures back to or slightly below average. For current Michigan weather observations and wind speeds, click here.
