Nope. Sunshine and warm temps. AND an early Spring. Whoo-Hoo!

That’s a good reason to celebrate with a lot of “!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  2. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Bring on the COLD and SNOW! Forget the warm temperatures till about mid April. SNOWSTORMS ARE ON THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. SW Kent says:

I hope you are right Rocky……no snow all week.
      Boring weather…..

  3. Mark A says:

Heyyyyyy Bill what r the chances i see snow tonight??? Im really bummed i missed the meteor shower!!!!

    1. Bill Steffen says:

Depends on where you are. Just occasional flurries early tonight, but the snow should pick up for late tonight. The most snow in the significant lake bands will be 4-8″ – watch for a band coming in somewhere in Allegan Co. and moving inland to the SE.

      1. Nathan says:

How about Tuesday west wind event? :)

  4. GFS 18z showed a touch more QPF for alma vs 12z I think as the energy moves south out of the gulf of Alaska towards the Pacific Northwest the models will start pumping up the moisture amounts.

    1. Bnoppe(Albion) says:

Still to soon to be excited or disappointed, As of now this may be our best shot at a area wide warning event,

  5. Katie in Kentwood says:

I’m in Benton Harbor right now on business and it isn’t snowing yet thankfully…hopefully it doesn’t start up until I get back to GR

  6. Nathan says:

Wow Accuweather has Grand Rapids getting over 10 inches of snow next Thursday night/Friday… Thats a first!

  7. Stephen (North Muskegon says:

The thing with the Thursday and Friday storm is the models are not going to have an actual handle to it until the Tuesday time frame. Plus the gulf is going to be WIDE open for this storm system, people need to take that into consideration..

  8. Todd In Nunica says:

starting to wonder if ill have enough by morning to plow or not……seems its heavier inland a bit and small “floating” bands is all…..mmmmm

    1. Bill Steffen says:

At least it’s Saturday and some businesses are closed.

      1. Todd In Nunica says:

SO true, in fact about 80% of my plowing are closed on weekends, (the reason I LIKE big storms to come Friday night, gives me plenty of time to get them open) During the week I have 3-6hrs (depending on snow depth) that have to be plowed before 6am

So yea not worried…just keep looking at the bands and they seem to be having a hard time organizing for now.

  9. dan cobern says:

nws in grand grapids already downplaying the snow event thursday night and friday .they say thee will be a transfer of energy to the east coast.p;enty of time to watch it though.

    1. Bill Steffen says:

The storm doesn’t look as impressive as it did 24-hours ago, but it’s still a very respectable storm and the European still has almost all snow for G.R. It may flip back yet. I’m going to wait up tonight for the new model data.

  10. dan cobern says:

why does that happen on snowstorms in michigan?it seems to happen a lot.

  11. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Pouring down snow in the Muskegon/Spring Lake area right now. This is quickly accumulating snow. Todd, I think you’ll have some plowing to do!

    1. Jack says:

      Ha,Matt I like That…POURING Down Snow ! ;-) . Stay cued, on The STORM on 2/22 !! JEM updates on The WAY ! ;-)

      1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Hey, if it can pour rain, it can POUR snow too!!! :P

        1. Brenda says:

          That’s right : )

    2. Todd In Nunica says:

was at my house too 1/2 hr ago, now nothing. That band cannot make up its mind where it wants to go.

      1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

It’s true. It is actually acting a bit more “westerly” than I thought it would.

It’s been sitting over us for a while now.

  12. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

I wasn’t sure if this event was actually going to occur, but alas, it has started over the past couple of hours. Very nice dentrites dumping out of the sky right now and quickly accumulating. This lake effect snow is different from some of the other events this year in that snow flake size is nice, the ground is quite cold, and it is piling up quickly.

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

      dendrites

    2. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

What is up with Woodtv.com radar. It is currently 10:37 yet the most recent radar image is from 7:45 This has been happening a lot lately. I have been hitting refresh, but nothing changes.

    1. Jack says:

Yup, I just noticed that as Well.. Meteorite ! Hang – Over .?? Lol… ;-)

    2. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

Well, I’ve always heard that things in the Midwest are “behind” compared to the east coast. Maybe they moved the radar up to Baldwin? Uncle Spaaaarkkkeee and Auntie Edna, what say you?

      1. Brad (Lawrence) says:

Do you mean Uncle Indy & Aunt Indy??? :P

        1. Jack says:

        2. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

          lol

  14. Jim S.(Saugatuck Twp) says:

Wagner just showed the gfs and ecmwf snowfall forecast for the storm next week. Each showed about 6″ with that system. Milwaukee also now saying it looks like a 6″ event. A far cry from the 12+ models were showing 24 hrs ago.

On another note… Chicago averages there first 70 degree day in 39 days from now.

    1. Jack says:

Lots of TIME, for That 2 Change !!! Stay Cued…… ;-)

  15. mr. negative says:

It’s a standard, generic, normal MI winter. Cold and snow every other day through mid June this year. Sometimes it’s heavy snow, sometimes it’s light. The snow in your yard this evening, will be present in April. The new normal is exactly what we do every winter.

  16. INDY says:

  17. Stacsh says:

This advisory for everyone will be cancelled by morning.

    1. Stephen (North Muskegon says:

      blah blah blah

      1. Stacsh says:

You may be right, but i’m sure all but allegan and van buren counties are dropped by the morning, or they are just plain stupid.

  18. TomKap (Michigan St. & Fuller) Grand Rapids says:

Not sure why everyone is in such a (silly) ‘tizzy’ about this so-called ‘storm’ next weekend.
I already love the fact that it will be pushing 40 the next day with sunshine.
Whatever falls will certainly melt quick.

    Marvelous.
April is just around the corner. BRING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

    1. fixxxer says:
