Cold East, Warm West – Sunday edition

   The image is the high temperatures from Sunday.  Click on the image to enlarge.  Once again Sunday it was quite cool east of the Mississippi River, with warmer than average temperatures to the west.  Here’s a look at some afternoon high temperatures Sunday and the average for Sunday at that location in ( ):  Tampa 54 (75), Orlando 55 (76), Daytona Beach 53 (73), Jacksonville 47 (71), New Orleans 55 (69) Boothville LA (at the mouth of the Mississippi River) 50 (67), Atlanta 42 (60), Knoxville 37 (57) – talked to my mother in Oak Ridge, TN and she said it was mid-winter cold for them with a strong north wind, London KY 32 (55), Cleveland 26 (42), Buffalo 24 (37), Pittsburgh 28 (44), Athens AL 45 (65), Savannah GA 47 (68).     On the warm side:  Childress TX 85 (63), Garden City KS 70 (53), Scottsbluff NE 67 (49), Rapid City SD 60 (44), Miles City MT 57 (41).    The warmest temperature in the U.S. on Sunday was 89 at Thermal CA and the coldest was -22 at both Orr and Babbitt  MN.

    I hope by the end of March we will have spring like weather. Tuesday storm looks like someone will get alot of snow. Good night everyone.

    I’d rather be in that (chilly) 54 at Tampa, than that deceiving sunshine we had earlier today. It was COLD.
