Check out the road conditions in Wyoming. It’s like mid-winter. Snow in mid-April in the U.P. – picture from the Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assn. The U.P. is going to get another April snowstorm. Look at the large band of snow from Colorado to Canada that the European model prints out. Check out the Snowman Cam at Krupp’s Resort at Twin Lakes. Snow depth reports this Wed. AM: 48″ Hoist Basin, 34″ 10 miles south of Grand Marais, 33″ Marquette Airport, 25″ Munising, 22″ Tahquamenon Falls, 12″ Ironwood and S. Ste. Marie, 4″ E. Jordan, 3″ 9 miles SW of Gaylord, 2″ Kalkaska. Ahead of the next snowstorm, winter storm warnings are out for much of Wyoming, W. Nebraska and SW S. Dakota. for 8-10″ of new snow. The National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center reports that 25.5% of the Lower 48 states has a snow cover this (Tue.) morning! That’s an amazingly high coverage for April 16th…more than double average and over 3 times the snow cover of April 16 last year.
