  2. fixxxer says:

    yet another boring spring here.

    1. Mark (East Lansing) says:

      *yawn*

    2. Yup (Grandville) says:

      Yesterday wasn’t boring for me!!

    3. Megatron says:

Which is fine by me I don’t like strong storms would reather it be plain jane rain. So I like quite springs that is always good thing.

  3. Harry (Battle Creek) says:

Full sunshine in BC. Clouds across the region are breaking up… Today could potentially be more active than yesterday if more instability is realized. Our shear values today are much better than yesterday, however, instability was expected to be low…

    1. Harry (Battle Creek) says:

      Lower than yesterday***

We’ll have to see what happens.

      1. Bnoppe(Albion) says:

1230 update will be in soon

  4. Geneo says:

fixxer you must have a boring life.

    1. Mark (East Lansing) says:

Life is what you make of it.

    2. fixxxer says:

oh because you know me in “real life?’

      1. hsoJ in Zeeland says:

I feel bad for whoever knows you in real life.

  5. Yup (Grandville) says:

As was stated earlier, we shouldn’t expect anything if he clouds hang around. I think we will need at least two hours of full sun to make things pop. Lets see what happens here!

    1. fixxxer says:

dont count on anything today, you guys should learn from yesterday and last night.

      1. Yup (Grandville) says:

Right, kinda what I said above ;)

  6. Harry (Battle Creek) says:

Wow.. Nearly moved us out of the slight risk. That was a HUGE movement of the risk area lol. It was mainly west of us, now it’s mainly east of us.

    1. Barry in Zeeland says:

They just found out that someone forgot to input the lakeshore “bubble effect” into the equation. Now that it’s fixed, it should be more accurate.

  7. Bnoppe(Albion) says:

We are in the day 2 now

  8. Barry in Zeeland says:

Interesting working in the yard here. For the second day in a row, the clouds are shooting up right over our heads. I’m guessing we live right on the line where the lake breeze ramps up the storms. Just the past 15-20 minutes it’s got really dark over head, just like yesterday. Another 15-20 minutes and we’ll probably be hearing thunder just to our east as the line forms and marches away from us. Never get the storms, but it is cool watching the line form directly overhead!

    1. mr. negative says:

Yep…SE GR has dark clouds slipping past to the NE. Good observation Barry ;)

  9. Travis (Oakland County) says:

Dang, I’m in the slight risk and 30% chance now for tomorrow! And it looks like SPC still expects some good storms to fire later on today for eastern Southern Lower at least.

Maybe it hasn’t been a complete bust for me just yet.

For what was supposed to be a stormy and 1.5″ of rain today, it sure has been nice and sunny!

  10. Johnnie(Vicksburg) says:

Well here we go! First pop up in Kent county. We could really use some here too!!!

  11. Nathan says:

Crazy cloud just next to me!!

    1. Nathan says:

Ok that picture I sent you is not a tornado BUT it seriously looked like one!

      1. Nathan says:

But wow that was a cool cloud! It was moving so fast and so many cloud parts were moving around itt as you will see in the picture.

        1. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

          That would be it, thanks

  12. INDY says:

Close your eyes kids fixxers on the blog…..INDY…

    1. Mark (East Lansing) says:

      That explains the smell…

      1. fixxxer says:

kiss me rear mark, you jealous or something?

      2. Mark (East Lansing) says:

        Just having fun fizzzer.

You must have expected this – considering the overly dramatic way you went out and at the same time assuring everyone you would never return.

    2. DF (SE Mich) says:

      You knew it would happen…

  13. Kevin(Rockford) says:

Nice little boomer went overhead and laid down some nice rain. Next!

  14. Storm waning says:

“Keep in mind, lightning is always very dangerous….”
    Laura Velasquez – forecast 5/21/13

Whew!, glad that’s been cleared up!

    1. fixxxer says:

whats dangerous? the fact that they cant predict storms anymore?

      1. Rad (Jenison / Hudsonville) says:

whats dangerous?Your Parents letting you on the computer in the 1st PLACE.

    2. Ray says:

      We are talking TERA-WATTS!

    1. INDY says:

WOW it is just about summer thanks 4 temps updateee!! INDYY..

    2. John (Holland) says:

Ugh. I was enjoying our cool, wet spring.

    3. DF (SE Mich) says:

Considering they were completely wrong with the below normal for us recently, although everywhere around us was below normal, I am not sure how they get paid over there.

      1. Travis (Oakland County) says:

You got that right. At least this time their “forecast” seems to be aligning with the other models.

    4. fixxxer says:

      good to me.

  15. mart (gr) says:

ugh fixxxer’s constant negativity is just too much I don’t know if i can read blog comments anymore.

    1. Mark (East Lansing) says:

Take comfort in knowing that you are one of the majority.

    2. fixxxer says:

Lol please…you just hate the truth. My god grow up. I havent even been back a day yet. Deal with it.

      1. mart (gr) says:

keep your heavily pessimistic biased “truth” to yourself please, we’re all tired of it. As far as growing up you sound like a spoiled child. If your sense well being depends on an unrealistically 100% accurate weather prediction perhaps you should consider anti-depressants.

    3. Mark (East Lansing) says:

The truth is that this blog was fantastic while you were on hiatus.

    4. Michael g (se gr) says:

The negativity is fine. It’s the repetetivity of the stupidity that pains me.

  16. Dan says:

fixxxer: You wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you straight in the eyes.
Please stop taking the Lord’s name in vain!

  17. Harry (Battle Creek) says:

If someone would have told me 3 days ago that we wouldn’t see severe weather around here, I would have laughed and told them they’re crazy.

Now, I’m looking at myself in the mirror thinking, “wow, I’m crazy”.

3 days with 3-4 separate severe weather chances… And slipped by with NOTHING? I don’t know if I should look at that as lucky because I’ve been working outside, or not lucky because I love storms.

  18. Thought it was gonna be stormy from monday-wednesday?

  19. Kimeagle says:

We JUST got home after driving from Constantine via the Toll Road toward the showers you mentioned, Bill. We went through brief showers, but most of it appears to be coming N out of LaGrange Co. Steuben Co. was dey.

WE DID get awakened this morning by the T-storms passing through Traverse City. Lots of rain fell there!

  20. Kevin (Marshall) says:

1/4 inch of rain just south of Marshall between 12:15am and 12:25am.

  21. Jen in Middleville says:

I heard from Mecklenburg about possible frost Friday?! Am I going to lose my fruits as we’re heading for Texas? And will there still be severe weather on the route to Texas? We leave in the morning.

    1. DF (SE Mich) says:

Yes, there is definitely a chance, especially north of GR. Too early to tell though.

  22. DF (SE Mich) says:

I saw exactly 10 rain drops here in A2, the most I’ve seen in a long time =) We need some rain… hopefully today is the day.

    1. GunLakeDeb says:

We had slightly more than that – enough to dampen the deck; but not enough to register in the rain gauge.

  23. mr. negative says:

SE GR…4/10 of an inch of rain overnight. It certainly did “sound” like more.

  24. Kevin(Rockford) says:

.8 overnight and with the latest its up to .96

  25. Jeff(Northern Ionia County / Muir) says:

Whats the thought on later tonight, will the rain continue or is it going to dry up? I would like to make it out on the lake fishing tonight but not sure with the rain

  26. Billy says:

Just got a call from my dad saying a large oak came down in my yard (Howard City) just missing my 3 month old F-150 and garage.

  27. TrippedUpDaddy says:

Are my deceiving me, or are seeing a little wind shear starting to occur on the radar to the south of GR? Surface winds are coming out of the SW, but it looks like some possible air movement heading straight out of the south mixed in.

  28. Kevin (Marshall) says:

Short lived heavy rain showers about. No thunder or hail.

  29. Travis (Oakland County) says:

Some severe storms now popping up in SE Mich.

Also, yesterday the low in Detroit was 71 degrees. This set the daily high minimum record – previous record was 68 degrees.

  30. Jack says:

  31. mr. negative says:

SE GR – an additional 3/10 through the day brings us up to 7/10 since midnight.
