Frost AdvisoryMay 24th, 2013 at 4:09 pm by Bill Steffen under Bill's Blog, Weather
We had a Frost Advisory for everyone overnight. Winds were calm, so there was more significant variation from high spots to low spots (cold air sinks to low spots on a calm, clear night). I think the orchards were OK. It will be warm enough aloft that wind machines, helicopters (probably not necessary) and anything to stir the air will have a beneficial effect. Here’s low temperatures early Sat. AM: 40 Gr. Rapids (Ford Airport), 39 Holland (Regional Arpt), 38 Kalamazoo, 37 Muskegon, Battle Creek, Lansing, 35 Jackson, S. Haven, 34 Big Rapids (the new thermometer location is higher and B.R. will often be warmer at night now. 32 Hart, E. Ludington, and the agricultural weather station at Lawrence, 31 Cadillac, Houghton Lake and Manistee, 29 Baldwin and Pellston, 28, Grayling, 27 Atlanta MI, 25 Leota (Clare Co.), Indian River and Champion, 24 Doe Lake and Spincich Lake (both in the U.P.). We should be at least a few degrees warmer tonight.
