Modis Satellite Pictures

modis lake michigan    This is the MODIS Lake Michigan satellite picture from Friday PM.  See it here full screen.  Notice how green everything is (we’ll dry out some this week).  There was a band of high clouds on the other side of Lake Michigan that you could plainly see from Grand Rapids.  Those clouds moved due south.   Yippee, I can still see the tornado “scar”, now over 6 years old.   Check out the MODIS picture of all the Great Lakes (and look north of Lake Huron/Georgian Bay to see the copper-colored lake that looks like a leaf – Lake Abitibi) and the pictures for Lake Superior (look at the orange-colored Tailings Pond southwest of Marquette), Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.   Finally, here’s a look from space at a dust plume come from Egypt out over the Red Sea.
