This is the MODIS Lake Michigan satellite picture from Friday PM. See it here full screen. Notice how green everything is (we’ll dry out some this week). There was a band of high clouds on the other side of Lake Michigan that you could plainly see from Grand Rapids. Those clouds moved due south. Yippee, I can still see the tornado “scar”, now over 6 years old. Check out the MODIS picture of all the Great Lakes (and look north of Lake Huron/Georgian Bay to see the copper-colored lake that looks like a leaf – Lake Abitibi) and the pictures for Lake Superior (look at the orange-colored Tailings Pond southwest of Marquette), Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Finally, here’s a look from space at a dust plume come from Egypt out over the Red Sea.
