There’s was a Severe T-Storm Watch for the eastern U.P. and northern Lower Michigan. Gusts hit 58 mph at the weather station on Mackinac Island. I got this picture from Sandi, who is on the island. She wrote: “This was moments before the storm. It was crazy. Trees down, lost screens, etc. It was calm and then it was rocking and rolling.” Also, gusts to 63 mph from a ship 25 miles NE of Copper Harbor 59 mph at “Windigo, 51 mph at the NWS office at Negaunee and 45 mph near L’Anse. Golfball-sized hail at Barton City with trees down. Nickel-sized hail fell west of Manistique and one person was killed in a fire started by lightning near McMillan. M-35 was blocked by a downed tree and there were power poles down. Champion had wind damage. Deer Park reported trees down on campers and cars.
