Tropical Storm ErinAugust 15th, 2013 at 12:35 pm by Bill Steffen under Bill's Blog, Weather
Tropical Storm Erin has formed west of Africa, moving to the west/west-northwest. It’s a minimal storm and shouldn’t get to major hurricane status. It’s going to be fighting dry air. Here’s the discussion on the storm from the National Hurricane Center and the projected path of Erin. There is also a disturbed (hatched) area of showers and storms near the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. That area will move north and provide more rain to the U.S. Gulf Coast this weekend. It may get breezy, but this area will not intensify to hurricane. status.
