Sunset at Orchard Beach S. P. from “Boz” at ReportIt. The water level of Lake Michigan/Huron held steady last week. It’s down one inch in the past month, but four inches higher than one year ago. The lake remains 19″ below the century average. The level is 11″ higher than the lowest August level reached in 1964. Lake Superior was down one inch in the last week, but it’s 7″ higher than one year ago and just 4″ below the century average. Lake Erie is down 6″ in the last month, but 9″ above the level of one year ago. Lake Erie is exactly at the century average level. Lake Ontario is down 7″ in the last month, but remains 13″ above the level of one year ago. Lake Ontario is 2″ above the century average. Lake Michigan water temperatures have gone up a bit in recent days…and range from the mid 60s to low 70s. The mid-lake buoy was at 71 deg. Thurs. PM.
