Radar and links

Local   There was a signficant power outage in E. Allegan and Barry County was fairly large – 7,080 customers – that’s down to 808 customers as of 2:15 am.   Rainfall amounts from Sat. evening:  Big Rapids 0.36″, Allendale 0.34″, Manistee 0.33″, Daybreak Church (Georgetown Twp.) 0.33″, Jenison 0.31″, Holland (Regional Airport) 0.30″, Ludington 0.30″, Hudsonville (City Hall) 0.28″, Lake Macatawa (Holland) 0.25″, Grand Haven 0.20″, Benton Harbor 0.04″.  Partly to mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures for Sunday and Monday.  More showers will move in Tuesday PM into Weds. with even cooler air.   Temperatures toward the 2nd half of the week will have a hard time getting out of the 50s, and may actually see a day or two when we don’t get out of the 40s.  I’d also have to say that late this week/early next week, we’ll see the first snowflakes in the U.P. and maybe Northern Lower Michigan.  The cool weather toward the end of the week will accelerate the rather slow fall color change next week.  I’m working the 6 PM, 10 PM and 11 PM newscasts Sunday, so flip over to watch me – I’ll have the updated 8-day forecast.

Several stations reporting 79 degrees – from Ypsilanti to Alma to Pellston to Bellaire. Can we hit 80?

    2. Bill Steffen says:

The complete list doesn’t come out until later this evening, but so far, the only two stations that had an 80-degree maximum were Alma and Harbor Springs (would you have guessed those two stations?). That’s probably the last 80 in Michigan until late March or April 2014.

  2. michael g (SE GR) says:

How are we looking for the GR Marathon next Sunday? Cool for sure, but hopefully at least not too wet or windy?

    no power around gun lake.
any knowledge of major outages? or just a car crash into power pole locally?

  9. Ned S. (Now in South Holland) says:

Michigan loses to Penn State. When you play not to lose, you lose. Michigan lost because they did not have enough confidence in their QB to let him throw to the end zone during the 47 (sarcastic) ovetime periods. Penn State did, and they won the game.

  10. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Winter is just a round the corner!
