There was a signficant power outage in E. Allegan and Barry County was fairly large – 7,080 customers – that’s down to 808 customers as of 2:15 am. Rainfall amounts from Sat. evening: Big Rapids 0.36″, Allendale 0.34″, Manistee 0.33″, Daybreak Church (Georgetown Twp.) 0.33″, Jenison 0.31″, Holland (Regional Airport) 0.30″, Ludington 0.30″, Hudsonville (City Hall) 0.28″, Lake Macatawa (Holland) 0.25″, Grand Haven 0.20″, Benton Harbor 0.04″. Partly to mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures for Sunday and Monday. More showers will move in Tuesday PM into Weds. with even cooler air. Temperatures toward the 2nd half of the week will have a hard time getting out of the 50s, and may actually see a day or two when we don’t get out of the 40s. I’d also have to say that late this week/early next week, we’ll see the first snowflakes in the U.P. and maybe Northern Lower Michigan. The cool weather toward the end of the week will accelerate the rather slow fall color change next week. I’m working the 6 PM, 10 PM and 11 PM newscasts Sunday, so flip over to watch me – I’ll have the updated 8-day forecast.
