Snow Record at Marquette

snow marquette ewen jeffrey tormala  From the Marquette NWS facebook page, I asked a question:

Bill SteffenAny idea what the record is for consecutive days with a trace or more of snow at MQT in October?

US National Weather Service Marquette MichiganBill, excellent question, and one that surprised us here at the office. We just set the record with 12 consecutive days recording a trace or more of snowfall, beginning Oct 19th and ending yesterday, Oct 30th. Previous record for October was 6 days set twice, beginning Oct 18th, 2002 and beginning Oct 4th, 1964. Interesting to set that record with October going in the record books with an above normal average temp.

Thanks for answering my question, Bill. I had a feeling that had to be close to record territory. Have a great weekend!
