its christmas again master says the kids have been wrotten once more that means master does not give them gifts. and the missus did not bring home many dollars in her pants this year. what is a wrist to do.

    1. Jordan (Twin Lake) says:

How about give master a “break”?

I worked for Mr Fables in my senior year of high school :-) “Car Hop” without the skates…LOL!! The article is right – nobody has ever duplicated the flavor of a Mr Fabulous!!

  2. Todd In Nunica says:

well, 5am, no snow, unless something REALLY kicks in that band is so fast moving it does not look to drop much snow, so I guess i get to go back to bed! lol people will just have to deal with a bit of snow in their drives till I get there this evening after my family leaves.

Merry Christmas everyone! I got 2 hrs more sleep to get!

  3. Merry Christmas All, I see Santa has dropped off nearly 6 billion presents and is almost done, last spotted in Alaska. With 8 inches of snow on the ground and ice in the trees and snow expected to fall it will go down as a beautiful white Christmas. Thinking of the Birth of our Lord on this special day of all days. This will be the first Christmas without my mom and while she is missed I know she is where we all hope to go. I hope those without power get it back soon and if you have a neighbor who’s old and may not have power check on them !

  4. TomKap (Michigan St. & Fuller) Grand Rapids says:

For those (like myself) who have been stressing about the talk about rather high winds today (to bring more power lines down) the NWS has now backed off the potential for wind gusts inland – and expect it only to be windy near the lakeshore. You can verify that by reading the NWS Grand Rapids discussion from a couple hours ago.

NOW I can get some sleep.

    1. GunLakeDeb says:

ANY wind, with our trees still loaded with ice in spite of yesterday’s sunshine, is a VERY scary thought. My daughter who lives near Green Lake/Caledonia, finally got her power on last night. My good friend in Freeport still has no power….

I have buckets of water stashed in the bathtub, because I don’t feel like we’re safe from losing power yet.

  5. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

Merry Christmas! I probably won’t be falling asleep again :p

    1. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

Scott, it looks like this storm is arriving later after all… A LOT later.

  6. Yup (Grandville) says:

Merry Christmas to you and yours Bill!

  10. SlimJim NW GR (1) says:

    Merry Christmas one and all

  11. Dan says:

Merry Christmas all! Snow is falling once again. Remember all the talk of our melting snowpack?

    1. SlimJim NW GR (1) says:

You know Dan I really though we would see a warm up in late December but I was wrong on that one. In fact it now looks cold and maybe snowy at least into the second week of January (of course that still could change)

    2. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Yes, I remember and I knew they were wrong!

  12. SlimJim NW GR (1) says:

I have to say that this is one of the most “Christmas Card” like Christmas mornings I can ever remember. Now not trying to sound like several others that write on this blog but looking ahead its looks not only cold but we have a few possible chances of snow coming up around the start of the new year. We shall see how that plays out.

  13. INDYY says:

Merry X-MASS Bill, Storm Team 8 and Bloggers!! This Snow’s 4 u!!!! INDYY

  14. Mark (East Lansing) says:

Merry Christmas everyone. Still no power at home or at church. Only one Mass last night and everyone brought flashlights – which actually made it really cool. Be safe and enjoy your loved ones.

    1. GunLakeDeb says:

That’s the sort of stuff that makes for great memories!!

  15. michael g (SE GR) says:

New year will start the same way this year will end. Cold and snowy!!

    1. Ned S. (Now in South Holland) says:

Looks like a lot of warmth in far northern Canada. Are things going to flip during the second half of January?

      1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

      2. Boris says:

        Yes in February.

  16. Red in Allegan Co. says:

  17. Jay S.(US31/I96 corridor) says:

Nice snow falling here in Fruitport! Merry Christmas, Bill! And bloggers!

    1. Matt (Spring Lake) says:

How much snow did Fruitport get today? What is the total on the ground? I’m not around, so I’m interested in hearing. :)

  18. Ned S. (Now in South Holland) says:

The lake effect machine is up and running in Holland, MI.

  19. KF (SE of Lowell) says:

Still no power at my house. Celebrated Christmas morning at my folks with my husband and boys. It was nice to be warm and with family.

  20. Mike M. says:

Beautiful heavy snow falling here in Comstock Park. I’ve always preferred Christmas Eve over Christmas Day but this year is different. I can’t remember a prettier snowfall on Christmas Day. God bless us, everyone!

  21. INDYY says:

  22. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

Looks like the wind is carrying the snow inland. Merry Christmas! It is snowing pretty nicely here… Anyone from Whitehall that got 18 inches of snow?

    1. Stephen(NorthMuskegon) says:

Well I did not receive the 18 inches i did get 10-12 from that mesolow. The snow was coming down so hard you could barely see across the street!

      1. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

That’s still very impressive! Good thing the snow was fluffy or else that would be terrible to shovel.

    2. Bald Eagle (Montague) says:

Yep, I got every bit of that!

  23. Mike (Berrien county) says:

A few inches of snow back at my home in Michigan, & several on the ground still here at my folks’ here in northern Illinois. Definitely a very white, Merry Christmas to all this year! Hopefully power is restored to everyone soon.

  24. Stephen(NorthMuskegon) says:

A fresh 5-6 inches of snow fell so far today luckily its nice a fluffy so was a nice and easy to shovel!

    1. Mike (Berrien county) says:

How much total do you have on the ground now up there, just out of curiosity??

      1. Stephen(NorthMuskegon) says:

Close to 2 feet on the ground right now

        1. Mike (Berrien county) says:

  25. kevin. w says:

I still think that within this winter pattern there’s going to be a huge storm out of this before winter is done. Whether this storm comes in Jan/Feb. or a huge storm to turn us into spring season but no doubt a mammoth storm will be coming out of this winter pattern. Its just a matter of time before the north/south storm tracks meet suck up a bunch of gulf moisture and BAM.

    1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Sounds good – bring it on! I feel we will have at least two of these type of storms!
