Sunday Night/Monday Snow

Local  Here’s the Consumers Energy Power Outage Map.  At 7:45 pm Sunday, 634 Consumer’s Energy customers were still without power (313 in Genessee Co, 123 Clinton Co., 110 Ingham Co., 56 Barry Co., 19 Livingston Co., 3 in Kalamazoo Co., 2 each in Calhoun and Eaton Counties and just one customer in Kent Co.).    Thanks to all who helped – in state and out-of-state.   A band of lake-effect snow will produce a couple inches overnight in W. Allegan and Van Buren Counties…inland a dusting of flurries and cold.  There were many temps. in the northern half of Minnesota that didn’t get above -10F Sunday PM.  Check out the weather observations from Fargo ND.  At 1 am Sat. they were 35 deg. with a SE wind at 6 mph.  24-hours later at 1 am Sunday, they are -13 deg. with a 23 mph north wind and a wind chill of -41!!  The overall pattern for this week into next week is cold and snowy.

Florida is the place to be this winter so far if you don’t like the coldTropical Cyclone Christine coming into NW Australia.  Also, Michigan loses to Kansas St., which had a nearly 11-minute advantage in time of possession.  Notre Dame beats Rutgers…the Lions close out a disappointing season against Minnesota.  The Lions season ends with another loss.  Green Bay, with Aaron Rodgers back, takes the division.

I see WOOD and WWMT didn’t even mention the chance for a snowstorm for the middle of this week during the 6PM news tonight. Only mentioned how cold it was going to be. Waiting for more consistent model runs before mentioning it?

    1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Bill did just add a new thread on the blog however!

    1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Imagine that, because for the last three days the GFS was showing rain! The GFS model out past a few days is one step above worthless!!!
