These are the MODIS satellite pictures from today (Tue.). Click on the images to enlarge or click here for the pic. on the left and click here for the pic. on the right. You can see the stratocumulus clouds generated when the Arctic air hits the open water. Already a lot of ice on the Great Lakes for the first week of January.
Also, the cold will reload starting around Jan. 17-20. Check out yet another massive Arctic plunge…the map is for the morning of the 22nd. This could be nearly as cold as this batch! Here’s a map showing where our air is coming from…right out of the Arctic.
A HUGE sunspot shot out an X1 class flare, with produced a CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) which could bring us a display of the Northern Lights.
