Tornadoes in California

tornado california nbc sac   hail sacramento nbc At least two tornadoes (and possibly four) touched down north of Sacramento Weds. late afternoon.   Tornado one:  EF0 TORNADO IN MARKET ST-FILLINGHAM  LN-KIRIKTON LN-SYKE CT AREA OF WEST  ROSEVILLE BETWEEN 615 PM-620 PM 03/26/2014  ESTIMATED 75-85 MPH WINDS, TORNADO WIDTH  10-20 YARDS, DAMAGE PATH 200-300 YARDS. ROOF  DAMAGE, 2 WINDOWS BLOWN OUT, 25-30 FEET OF  FENCE BLOWN DOWN, PROJECTILE DAMAGE TO  STUCCO.  TORNADO DURATION 5 MINUTES.          Tornado 2:  5 MILES SW OF ORDBEND – ROW OF ALMOND TREES DOWN, CAR WINDOWS BLOWN  IN, AND WALNUT TREES DOWN AROUND 2 MILES E  OF I-5 AND CR 39 AROUND 543PM – 6PM 3/26/14.  STORM SURVEY TEAM STILL LOOKING AT DAMAGE.  Tornado damage has also been confirmed 4 miles east of Willows and 3 miles east of Bluegum.     The storms were also accompanied by hail up to one inch in diameter (see pic. on the right).   There’s more information and pictures of the storms here and here.  The showers and storms brought some much-needed rain to the area.  (pics. from KCRA)

    Bill, last night I checked the NWS for the area, temperatures was about 48 to 50 degrees. I am sure the people living in these areas were very surprise.
