Winter Weather Advisory Expires at 4 AMApril 3rd, 2014 at 12:23 am by Bill Steffen under Bill's Blog, Weather
More rain showers, esp. SE of Grand Rapids in the early-mid morning. The showers thin out about late morning as a cold front comes thru. That will shift winds to the southwest. It will get quite windy midday-afternoon, with SW winds gusting to 30-40 mph. As the cold air wraps back in, our rain will likely change to a little wet snow (dusting, maybe) as it ends Friday night, with dry and calmer weather for Saturday and Sunday. Look for temperatures in the low-mid 40s Saturday (upper 30s at Lake Michigan) and low-mid 50s on Sunday. We could see some rain Monday. It’ll likely be cool and dry for the Whitecaps home opener next Tues. Here’s the latest GRR forecast discussion.
Also, much needed rain for California. Downtown Sacramento received its entire average April rainfall in 1 day: 1.3″. Another snowstorm for Minnesota, NW Wisconsin and the U.P. Snow depth Weds. was 43″ in Grand Marais and Mohawk, 34″ Munising and Houghton, 32″ Newberry, 30″ Marquette Airport, 27″ S. Ste. Marie, 10″ Cadillac (woods), 9″ Gaylord. Ski areas in the U.P., along with some in N. Lower Michigan (Boyne, Shanty, Treetops) will be open with decent skiing this weekend.
