Next week’s heat wave has been trimmed back to two days in the low 70′s according to the NWS.

    1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

      Who knew?

  2. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

Hey maybe that would work. If you have an inch of snow and try mowing it to get rid of it?

    1. GunLakeDeb says:

Did you see one of the comments called it “Smowing”?? ROFL!!!!!

    2. michael g (SE GR) says:

I ran the mower over a light dusting of snow late last fall in an effort to pick up the last of the leaves. The grass didn’t seem to like it.

  3. JB says:

lol, and I thought people who mowed in the rain were crazy.

  4. Rocky (Rockford) says:

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW! I love it! Forget summer! Keep the below normal temperatures ROCKING!

    1. Rodey (Rockford) says:

Fantastic. Temps in the upper 60′s to lower 70′s next week. Bring it. I l love it.

  5. Rocky (Rockford) says:

The UP might see SNOW in June! Keep it coming!

  6. Rocky (Rockford) says:

Great day to go golfing! I would rather golf when the temps are in the 50′s and 60′s vs the 80′s! imagine that!

    1. Rodey (Rockford) says:

Try hitting the ball through the windmill instead of going around it. Thanks for listening. I love. Fantastic.

    2. Tom says:

Maybe you and Rodey can go as a twosome after your mom picks up your happy meal breakfast!

    3. Kevin. w says:

You are the most ignorant person on this blog. Your probably bipolar of some sorts we don’t need this cold BS am tired of paying 5/6 dollars for a bag of apples. If farmers don’t get in the fields soon just means food prices will continue to go up. There’s plenty of property at the north pole for you to build an igloo.

I hope we have just the opposite weather next winter will little snow and above normal temperatures and by looking at long range that’s looking pretty good.

      1. Tom says:

Kevin-I think Rocky/Rodey’s objective is to stir the pot on this blog and our best defense is to just ignore him/her in the future! I’m willing to try it if everyone else is! You know what they say “don’t pick that scab, it will go away on it’s own”!

      2. Tom says:

He doesn’t care about the dire situation the farmers are facing or the effects it will have on grocery prices since his mom buys his!

        1. fixxxer says:

I dont care about the farmers either. not everything is about them. I just want better weather. I seriously hate michigan anymore.

        2. michael g (SE GR) says:

If he DID care, would it improve their situation?

      3. fixxxer says:

No one cares about a warm winter cause it will still be cold. What i want is some warm weather now through the summer.

        1. Swatz_Zoo(Cedar Springs) says:

I certainly care very deeply about the farmers, it’s their livelihood as well as ours, if they lose money on their crops we lose money in our pockets because food costs will sky rocket. It’s a no win situation for all. Better weather will mean better crops. So, it’s pretty raw to say you don’t care about the farmers. If you were a farmer I’d care about you and what is happening to your crops, your family and your way of life. They are what feeds are families.

        2. GunLakeDeb says:

Well said, Swatz – what happens to the farmers hit US right in the wallet, or worse…. I want fresh LOCAL food – not some stale stuff shipped across the country…..

        3. GunLakeDeb says:

The sun feels so good today, despite the cold temps!! Someone on WOOD-TV mentioned that we are quite a bit below our “normal” amount of sun for May….I think I miss that more than the warmth?

        4. Bruno (Northview H.S.) says:

Very well said Swatz!! I, too, care about the farmers (son-in-law is one just east of Greenvlle. Big, big farm). I would rather buy “local” any day of the week to help support all the local farmers!!! And it is all way better than anything “imported” !!!

      4. michael g (SE GR) says:

Do farmers need to plant apples for this fall?

  7. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Hey Indy are you still havin the Indy 25 hundred at the yard of bricks ? Sprites and fire with Jack spinning the records…! Just curious if you were or waiting for some warmer temps.

  8. fixxxer says:

Bill ban rocky’s IP and do us a favor. Ill also say this is tue WORST spring i can ever remember.

    1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Everyone likes different weather this much is obvious and Rocky likes the cold and that would be an understatement , but why someone would not care about others , as you point out directly about the farmers fixxx is a bit cold and narcissistic , even low for you. Who wants hard times for other people really ?

      1. fixxxer says:

Becuase rj is an ass and a thorne in the blogs side.

      2. michael g (SE GR) says:

Fixx cares only about fixx. And whining like a little girl.

        1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

          +100 GAZILLION!

  9. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

My heat was off and on all night …..thank The the a lord for a working furnace and warm home , as I’m typing this the outside temp is just now at 39 / 40…..Wowsers ! I didn’t see any frost this morning I’m sure some folks did though. If we can get the sun to come out however I think today should shape into a nice day. :)

    1. fixxxer says:

Pretty sad when we may have to run out heat all damn summer.

  10. Tom says:

fixxxer better start caring about the farmers! There is some ingredient grown by a farmer in everything he eats, but again if he’s a kid and doesn’t have to buy groceries I can understand his ignorance!

    1. fixxxer says:

I dont spend all my time thinking about snow plowers and farmers tom.

      1. Tom says:

My guess is you don’t have to. Try buying groceries today for a family of four on the same wages you were making last year! The weather does have a major impact on food prices which is grown by FARMERS!

        1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

+1. I was going to buy organic milk the other day and it was 8.79 , unreal. Having cattle probs I heard.

        2. Brian(Grandville) says:

That organic stuff is way over priced, and has no more nutritional value, or isn’t any better for you then the non organic products. My wife buys that stuff sometimes, and I can’t believe how much she pays.

        3. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

I didn’t buy the milk at that price, ( not my choice btw ) however I would have to disagree with you as there are many differences when buying products from the store and how the products are raised / fed makes a difference trust me . My family grew up on a farm and I have payed close attention to health and nutrition / fitness throughout my life. I would agree if you don’t know what to look for however it can be a marketing ploy , however this true across the board.

        4. michael g (SE GR) says:

Fix doesn’t work. He fakes injuries and receives settlements. Oh, and sends his wife out to make him some cash.

  11. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Here is a little excerpt from the NWS discussion last night , doesn’t seem like they are all in at this point in time for next weeks SVR chances but still showing some of the necessary ingredients . I hope we do hv some boomers as this would be the only highlight I’m seeing in the near future , other than a two day warmer trend.

GFS AND HIGH RES EURO SHOW FAVORABLE CAPE…STEEP MID LEVEL
LAPSE RATES AND DEEP LAYER SHEAR FOR ORGANIZED STORMS PRIOR TO THE
COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE TUE INTO TUE NIGHT. TOO EARLY TO SAY WITH A LOT
OF CONFIDENCE IF SEVERE WEATHER WILL EVOLVE…BUT SOME INGREDIENTS
ARE SHOWN. I WILL KEEP THE THUNDER RISK GOING.
SOUNDINGS…ESPECIALLY THE GFS SHOW A ” CAPPED ” ENVIRONMENT ROUGHLY
AROUND 750 MB TUE…WHICH COULD BE A FACTOR. TEMPERATURES SHOULD
WARM INTO THE 70S FOR MOST OF THE CWA ON TUE GIVEN THE ARRIVAL OF A
    LOW . ( I hate capped environments , we need 1500 / 2000 kg at least )

  12. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

This from the extended forecast , hints of “colder” temps possible again late next week after our brief moderation …grrrr!

THE MODELS/ENSEMBLES SHOW A 500 MB WAVE WITH DEVELOPING CLOSED LOW
PROGRESSING ACROSS THE UPPER MS VALLEY TUE…GREAT LAKES
WES/THU…NORTHEAST FRI…ND OFF THE NEW ENGLAND COAST SAT. THE
WAVE/LOW ARE FOLLOWED BY COLDER TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER MS
VALLEY DAY 3-4…GREAT LAKES DAYS 5-6…AND NORTHEAST DAY 7.

    1. John (Norton Shores) says:

Doesn’t look all that cold though, cooler compared to the beginning of the week but still in the 60′s, one can only hope it stays warm!

  13. Cort S. says:

Hey Darren, better mark your calendar for the next weather geek meeting. It will be the last one until autumn. I will unfortunately have to miss it because I’ll be in North Dakota.

    https://www.facebook.com/amsnwa/posts/817702824921640

    1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Thanks Cort , I missed the last one…ahh wish you were going , be nice to finally meet the professor , would hv brought you some doughnuts as well. Lol. I wish you the best of luck with your Job hunt. ( I know it’s ruff out there , especially yr field ). I’ve been interviewing with a company for 4 months ( 5 interviews ) and still hv no answer and 2 interviews to go…really, I’m waiting for them to draw blood next. Lucky I currently have a job …..as I was out of work for the better part of a year, 2 years ago now…..tuff sledding in this economy , not making the doe I used to for the same work basically and things aren’t getting any cheaper last I checked. Lol

      1. Cort S. says:

The job hunt is encouraging and there may be some news emerging soon. I do have SLC as an option next winter if things do not work out. Best of luck with your interviews.

        1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

That’s good to hear Cort as options are a good thing and you are obviously very talented / articulate beyond your years and anyone who has the honor of your employment will be fortunate to have someone with the passion you have.

  14. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

I must say however looking at the GFS past next week things look to hover around normal , so let’s hope that trend continues . I’m sure one can’t put much weight at all into the models past the 5-7 day period since we are most definitely on a swing pattern , and we know how these forecasts can come and go from dat to day. I will still say with reasonable confidence we will be seeing this back and forth battle well into June and only towards the latter part off or early July will we see longer stretches of warmth.

  15. Swatz_Zoo(Cedar Springs) says:

OT for a moment…..DarrenSVRstm, or anyone else in the Cedar Springs area and have Charter Cable/Phone/Internet, have any of you been experiencing problems with your service, especially phone going in/out over the last week since last weekends storms?? Our phone has been HORRIBLE for a week now, I thought maybe they were fixing something but it’s been long enough, will be calling them today and asking what the deal is with the phone service, we are paying for it but unable to use the service, even our cable box has been resetting itself.

    1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

I do have charter , however no land line just cable / internet , and no problems that I’m aware of…although I haven’t been watching much TV during the past week so I might not be the best base line for ya…. Make sure they adjust your bill accordingly SWATZ as I have had changes in the past , stay on them or they won’t resolve the issue.! Good luck. :)

  16. Yzer says:

LOL,by the time it finally warms up the summer will be over. Only three months and a few weeks till September. Fantastic.I love it.

  17. michael g (SE GR) says:

GR now down to -1.7* for the month and dropping like a rock. Seven in a row looks like a good bet.

  18. INDY says:

Anybody see I travass around tell him its below normal outside!! INDYY!!
