Click on the images to enlarge. The first is from the Marquette NWS facebook page showing maximum ice on Lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron. The graphic on the right shows that we STILL have a 5% ice cover on Lake Michigan Weds. evening. At this point, you’d have to guess that a tiny fraction might be left Monday morning (Memorial Day). There are still snow piles and patches left in a few spots in the U.P. I’ll post the updated Great Lakes water levels tomorrow. The Grand River in G.R. crested on Tuesday. As I write this Weds. evening, the flow on the river in G.R. is 11,700 cfs. Thats’ more than double the mean flow for May 21 of 5,120 cfs.
