    2. Mark (East Lansing) says:

Agreed Jack. Doesn’t get much better this.

Any chance of more meteors tonight?

  4. GunLakeDeb says:

OK – confession time. I can kayak for 6 or more hours non-stop (piece of cake); but a stand-up paddleboard kicked my butt after 15 minutes….LOL!! (My excuse is that there are a LOT of boats on the lake today and it’s wavy) My goal for the summer is to paddle that beast around our bay this summer (approx 2 miles)….LOL!!!!!

    1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Go get it GLD…My friends back home are in to it big time. They paddle around the harbor at Dana Point , it’s a little over a mile and they go around 10 times in the early morning hours when it’s ambit more calm , great work out. The reason you get so tired is : A – you have to balance more than a kayak , so one is using your small intrinsic muscles B – I would be willing to bet you are more practiced and comfortable in a kayak . :)

    2. Nathan (Forest Hills) says:

I saw someone stand up paddle boarding this morning while I was fishing at reeds lake. Any chance that was you?

  5. michael g (SE GR) says:

Beautiful day, but right at the beach the temp was hanging between 58* and 60* all afternoon, with a steady, light, chilly breeze. Kids and brother in law carried on their Memorial Day weekend tradition of diving in anyway. I’m way to soft for that.

    1. GunLakeDeb says:

Oh brrrrrrr!! You should come down to Gun – water was 72 yesterday, probaby 75 today??

      1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Really GLD the water there is that warm…? Are boats allowed in your lake ? If so I’m heading your way and putting the boat in that bathtub…Must be a real shallow Lake..? Idk I thought it was partially frozen just 45 days ago.

        1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

K not a bathtub , but still I could deal with that.

        2. michael g (SE GR) says:

There are a few deep holes, but much of the lake is only 6-10′ deep. Often approaches 90* in the summer.

Looks like some 80′s coming our way to finish off the month of May. Rocky’s predictions are wrong again!!!

    1. Jeremy (Three Rivers) says:

He does give some “rocky” predictions. LOL… Pun intended.

Sure got chilly out. I look foward to warm summer nights. Oh thats right i live in michigan.

    1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Fixxx , Fixxxxer , I was hoping you could make it just one day and appreciate the BEAUTIFUL weather we are blessed with. You should attempt living in the moment and enjoying what you have instead of looking for things that you don’t have , especially things in which you have no control over , as that’s an exercise in futility . Common Fix your better then this.!

      1. Rocky (Rockford) says:

He is not better than this! fixxxer is a negative, whining, complaining, racist, loser and will never change!

  10. Jeff (Portland) says:

  11. INDY says:

  12. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

This is a little excerpt from NWS forecast discussion for tomorrow and Memorial Day….! Looking good.! :)

WEAK…SO SEVERE WEATHER IS UNLIKELY. FOR NOW I WILL DOWNPLAY POPS
TO START MEMORIAL DAY THEN INCREASE THEM AS WE GO THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING. MOST LOCATIONS SHOULD SEE
TEMPERATURES IN THE 80S ON MONDAY.

HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS IN CONTROL THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT…SO DRY
WEATHER UNTIL THEN. WARM AIR ADVECTION DEVELOPS ON THE BACKSIDE OF
THE HIGH SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. THIS WILL LEAD TO A MODERATING TREND
TO THE TEMPERATURES. SOME 80 DEGREE READINGS POSSIBLE SUNDAY BUT
MOST LOCATIONS SHOULD TOP 80 ON MEMORIAL DAY AS 925 MB
TEMPERATURES CLIMB TO AROUND 20 DEG C.

    1. SBPortage002 says:

One of the best Memorial Day weekends temp wise we can hope for. Pretty much perfect.

      1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

        Agreed …

    2. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Oh btw – first week of June looking like normal to just below normal temps to start of our month of June. Sounds like the good weather rolls on , possible some wet days however seem to be possible as well. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and of course be safe , as this weekend will most definitely have many sessions of amateur hour , especially those testing the waters for the first time with way to many sprites on board.

      1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Wow…please delete the first possible , if possible….lol

        1. SBPortage002 says:

I went to Battle Creek and the Firekeepers casino (came out $26.75 richer lol) and as I was driving back I looked around me…the sun, the leaves…it just looked like summer out there. Warmed my heart a lot. And the car temp said 78. Yup it was a very good day.

        2. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

          Nice..!

  13. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Indy…I’m shocked you have made no mention about the biggest race , and I would think your favorite race that takes place tomorrow..! ??????

  14. John (Norton Shores) says:

Some portions of southern Canada got up to the 90′s today, WOW! I enjoyed the 70′s today! :)

  15. Jack says:

The 2014 Perseid meteor shower will peak between August 10 and August 13. A waning Gibbous Moon (the Moon’s phase after a full moon) may make it harder for observers to see the shower. Despite this, astronomers suggest that observers try their luck to catch some Perseids before dawn on August 11, 12 and 13.
    STAY CUEDDD….. ;-)
