http://woodtv.com/weather/radar/ That green blob is not coming to us….Indiana looks like they will get it.

Sometimes I wish I lived in Kalamazoo – they’re getting all the good storms these days.
    :/

  3. Dan (Byron Center) says:

Windy and rain. High of 68 degrees today. The rain will.be nice to have and is needed. I am hoping that the Rangers can win the cup. However, I think the Kings have it going! What is wrong with the Tigers? They have changed since they left Boston earlier. Sanchez pitched a gem. Nathan not so much.

  4. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Read this from NWS , you know it’s a strong storm with these comments towards the bottom.

CONVECTIVE COMPLEX WITH THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER IA/MO HAS
PRODUCED OVER FIVE INCHES OF RAIN IN SOME LOCALES IN THE PAST 18
HOURS. THIS LOW WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH EAST…TOWARD SOUTHERN
INDIANA BY THIS EVENING. ALTHOUGH THIS SYSTEM IS RATHER COMPACT IT
PACKS VERY STRONG JET DYNAMICS…WITH A STRONG RIGHT ENTRANCE REGION
OF THE UPPER JET…ALONG WITH A LOW LEVEL JET OVER SOUTHERN IA THIS
EARLY THIS MORNING. AND ALTHOUGH THE SURFACE LOW IS PROGGED TO STAY
WELL TO OUR SOUTH…THE JET DYNAMICS HEAD DIRECTLY FOR THE I-94
CORRIDOR THROUGH THE AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING. THE LIFT
THIS PRODUCES IS OFF THE CHARTS AND IS SOME OF THE STRONGEST VALUES
THIS FORECASTER HAS SEEN IN SOME

  7. kevin. w says:

I was watching a meteorologist last night on CNN and was talking about the pattern that the United States has been in for the past 8 months. His comment was talking about the severe weather event unfolding across the central states and that more of these events will happen throughout June and July. The continuation of the pattern we’ve been in will last through most of the summer and probably early fall with storms riding over the western ridge and producing large scale thunderstorm complexes that could do alot of damage throughout the U.S. through the summer. So I think eventually will get into one of these sometime during the summer as intense heat in the south builds and the continuing cool pattern north will produce I believe a pretty large severe weather event across the midwest. I think our pattern is about 6 weeks behind schedule. Remember we didn’t warm up til about the 3rd week of May and I think once we get into October will see more of our influences from El Nino. Just my thoughts. :)

    1. fixxxer says:

I think your forgetting where you live.

  9. SlimJim NW GR (1) says:

Here at my house its cloudy and 64° with no rain here and looking at radar it dose not look like there will be much if any rain here. So cloudy and somewhat cool is the way it looks for today.

    1. GunLakeDeb says:

Kind of matches up with our long-range forecast. A slightly-cooler summer with a bit more rain is fine by me.

  11. Once a marine always.... says:

So glad for rain have had to run sprinkler in garden several times wonderful day!

  12. Sandi says:

    Whew lawn mowed yesterday. Everything is starting to bloom nicely. Veggies sprouting. Somewhere we missed spring though. Hundred year flood and Polar Vortex…do you suppose Michigan will get back to normal seasons? (-;

    1. fixxxer says:

      No.

  13. GunLakeDeb says:

Getting a lovely soft rain – the kind that nourishes the ground. For my neighbor’s sake – I hope it makes her newly-seeded lawn grow quickly, because she’s losing the battle with turtles….LOL!!!!! The first morning after the lawn was seeded, she woke up to a bunch of holes in her yard. The next morning, she saw a snapping turtle still laying its eggs – and realized THAT was what was digging the holes. The next morning, it was a rubberback turtle. Poor lady – some day, her lawn will erupt in baby turtles…ROFL!!!!

  14. Maxi says:

Anybody in the Ravenna area able to report if it’s raining up there. Golf at Moss Ridge tonight and hate golfing in the rain..:(

  15. BEST CHANCE FOR HEAVY RAIN WILL BE ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN LOWER
MICHIGAN AS AN APPARENT MCS TRACKS FROM NORTHERN ILLINOIS ACROSS
NORTHERN INDIANA WITH THE NORTHERN EDGE OF THE STORMS STILL IN DOUBT
BUT POSSIBLE AFFECTING THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE FORECAST AREA.
TIMING IS STILL UNCERTAIN AS WELL WITH THE GFS ALMOST 24 HOURS
    SLOWER THAN THE ECMWF.

We shall see about this MCS, but if I had to put a bet on it, its going to miss us completely, so I will count that period dry right now.

    1. fixxxer says:

Were not getting any severe storms. They hate us.

      1. Or because instability and shear both aren’t sufficient.

  16. INDY says:

    2. Steve (N. Moline) says:

I was shocked that my lawn was getting several yellow & brown patches already this season. Glad to see this rain help out.

      1. GunLakeDeb says:

My lawn here at work where we have very sandy/gravelly soil, was getting “crispy”…LOL! I’m really glad to see this nice soaking rain!

  18. steven (Derby Lake) says:

      1. GunLakeDeb says:

  22. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Well as expected storms far to our south on this one , no surprise here but the light rain has been a blessing ! I’m not seeing too much on the radar for us , small chances at this juncture late in the weekend but even that doesn’t looks so promising . :(

  23. INDY says:

      2. matt says:

Warm weather soon who knew. Rock n roll is dead and warm weather soon. Thanks for listening.

  27. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Looking at many of the models and extended forecasts with the exception of a small chance this weekend the unsettled weather looks to be focused in the southern half of the conus . If these forecasts hold close to true we might be waiting until mid – month before we even have a decent chance at some storms , we shall see , but it doesn’t look good attm. ( at least for some ). :(

    1. John (Norton Shores) says:

Don’t give up Darren, we still have plenty of time. In fact our prime time for severe weather doesn’t even come until mid June and last through July. So we still have a long time to go until we give up hopes! Hope big! we might get some good boomers later in the month!

      1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

Thanks for the pick up John….I’m usually pretty positive just didn’t like what I was seeing but you are correct much time for change. At least we are looking at sunny weather in the near term , as it will be great to get out and enjoy what ever sports / hobbies people have had on ” ice ” during the winter. :)

    2. fixxxer says:

Go get a hobby darren. Your in the wrong state for severe events. Thats why charles an dswatz dont come here anymore. Been this was for about 4 seasons. Not being rude i just think your being let down too much. Dont set your expectations to high.

    1. Mark (East Lansing) says:

No kidding? They’re still based in Missouri, right?

      1. Steven(DerbyLake) says:

Whiteman airforce base in Missouri. There is one other base also, somewhere out west, california most likely. There was at least one seen i think somewhere over texas a couple months ago. I seen one here a couple weeks ago but i had my doubts, then I seen it again. There is alot of commercial air craft that flies over here but lately I’ve heard a different tone from some aircraft. There is only about 20 B2s in service. In march 2013 2 flew from Missouri to south korea and back non stop.

    1. Treasure Hunter says:

      Detroit is a man-made disaster!

There is a 3 foot pile of snow left on Mackinaw Island still.

  33. Brian(Grandville) says:

Both Cabrera’s homer in the 1st tonight, in the Tigers/Jay’s game. 1-1

    1. Mark (East Lansing) says:

They’ve lost 11 of their last 14, but still have a four game lead. The AL Central is really bad this year.

      1. DarrenSVRstm ( Cedar S ) says:

And my A’s have the best record in the American League , very nice…! We also swep the Angels which is always great and I hope we do the same with the Yankees as that would be better.

  34. Kevin (Marshall) says:

.34 inches of rain total just south of Marshall.
