Impressive StormsJune 5th, 2014 at 12:59 pm by Bill Steffen under Bill's Blog, Weather
At 1 pm Thurs. – Impressive thunderstorm complex rolling thru NE Arkansas toward W. Tennessee, N. Mississippi. Lots of wind damage reports, with winds of 60-80 mph. A hotel roof had significant damage in Branson MO. You can see on the map on the right, the mostly likely place in the world to see a derecho thunderstorm complex is SW Missouri/NW Arkansas (click the map to enlarge). The storm track will remain well south of Michigan as we are in an overall comfortable and dry weather pattern across the Great Lakes.
