10:50 pm – The last sprinkles are ending.. Some places are really hurting for rain and I don’t see much help for you. The next good chance of rain will be with the front next Monday. The weather should be very nice for the LPGA Golf Tournament out at Blythefield C.C. Ticket prices are relatively reasonable – I hope they do well and raise a lot of $$ for local charity. Some areas (Lowell to Woodland) had quite a soaking yesterday, but many other areas need rain and we have an extended stretch of dry weather coming up through the weekend. Also: A large wildfire in Oregon, known as the Beaver Complex (comprised of the Gulch and Salt Creek fires) continues to rage. Over 1,500 fire personnel have been trying to combat the fire, started by lightning, which has grown to 36,723 acres since July 30, according to Inciweb reports. The Eiler Wildfire in California has consumed 28,600 acres and is 20% contained. Outside of the Pacific NW, this has been a remarkably quiet year for wildfires. Out of the last 10 years thru Aug. 5th, 2014 ranks 2nd lowest in number of wildfires and lowest in number of acres burned. Naples FL record rainfall yesterday of 6.73″. Stockholm, Sweden reached 92 deg. on Monday – the warmest temp. there in 20 years. Tornado near Las Vegas yesterday. The high temp. in Las Vegas Monday was 84 – 20 degrees cooler than average.
